DI-NOC Carbon Vinyl experiment

Recommended Posts

Got bored so ordered some CF DI-NOC vinyl to play with, i have other plans for it, but thought i'd try it out on something i have sat around at home waiting to go on to the car.

had contemplated doing the whole handles, and although this stuff is not to bad to manhandle. the door handles are just too fiddly to do the whole thing. so will go another direction.

any ways thought i'd share with you guys and i'll add more pics up when i've done the stuff i originally intended to do with it

wasn't planning on doing this as a sell on, was just playing around

i actually just stripped that handle back to plain paint,

might fill the 3 dots first then re do

also got a scratch in the drivers side one that needs a fill, and maybe 1 more coat of black, and a top coat of clear coat

man do i really want to spray loads of door handles

don't mind doing the wrapping, but don't have the space to set up a permanent spray shop. did those while i was at work, my workshop stank for a day, my boss would kill me if i start doing a set a day

these will be going on my car soon, i'll get a quote from my bodyshop on spraying them up if its not silly money, i'll get my old set sprayed, then i'll wrap and send on.

then you fit and send me your old set and i'll repeat the process etc. might be the best way

i got dibs on the first set

like bloomin vultures.

cost wise the handles will be on an exchange basis so you won't be paying for them,

but the price will need to cover:

-Spraying at the bodyshop ( i'm hoping it will come in under £30)

-my materials (need to price it up)

-my time (need to price it up)

-and postage to you (about £8 i think as they are heavy)

-and your own postage for your old set once fitted (same as above)

don't know if these will work out cheap or not

Andlid, my car has done 26,000 miles, openings let me think.... ummmm....

they'll be freshly painted, and i'll oil them before i send them back

my god its bloody difficult.

the lat pic is where i got to after 1.5 hours, and i still wasn't happy with the rear, so i've taken it all off, you can see that the weave changes the more you heat and stretch it.

i'm going to stick to doing the internals as they are nice and flat
