cerealuk
Just had a quote for repairing my alezan seats. The driver seat is fairly bad and the passenger seat is a little work but nothing too major. The quote was: Drivers seat full clean & repair to 4 panels £185 Passenger seat full clean and repair 2 panels £125 Handbrake & Gear Stick clean and repair £25 Does this seem ok to you guys? Before you ask, the driver seat is too far gone in my opinion to use care products. I have attached a photo of the worst part on the driver seat. Both seats seem very dry and cracked also in lots of areas.
Chris`I
I would ask what they are doing to repair it, but if it fixes it I would say its a fair price. You're looking at atleast £500 for a retrim, nearer £1k down south for a pukka job. Mine went like that, so I ended up with some Recaro's Nissans leather truely is shockingly cack if not maintained regularly from new
bodyboarder
There is a bloke on the e36 forum ( bmw) who does leather restoration kits, have seen some done and the difference is amazing, might be worth a try, would save quite a bit of money. Chris`I
is it this chap http://www.bespokeleathering.com/leather_care.html taken from e36coupe.com problem would be matching the colour I would of thought but not to say he wouldn't make one to match I had a kit to repair mine, but admittedly I recoloured it a completely different colour. It didnt hold up to well being black over the top of Alezan, but if you get a colour matched kit, it should work quite well. Best way is to get a sample off to them to colour match, take a little snippet off from under the seat
Vik54
If the leather's dried out try a proper leather treatment - I used to use this on my horse tack - is really good - I've seen it completely re-hydrate leather reins before - and I'm away to start using it on the zed upholstery http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STUBBEN-Hamanol-Leather-Bridle-Saddle-Dressing-Cleaner_W0QQitemZ270457642592QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Horse_Wear_Equipment?hash=item3ef8881e60
