sparky370z
i had an scorpion exhaust fitted with a Japspeed Y pipe yesterday. however after driving about today it is touching and rattling on the beam that goes across the car about half way up the mid pipe. i have checked that the hangers are on but it just seem weird that it was OK yesterday but is now fouling. also does the scorpion get "louder" when it gets hotter, ie when your driving harder? as when i was driving a bit harder than usual it sounded almost like it was blowing. davetstan
Sparky,,, Had the same fitted 2 weeks back and mine was doing the same... My mechanic was scratching his head at first until he tightened up the bolts in the mid section. This brought it well in to line and clear of the cross beam,,, its fine and dandy now.... Try doing that pal, I am sure it will sort out your prob. Dave

(RSR, factory lane, Croydon). Bloody Knew i should have done it myself!!!!! Sparky

If you got OEM cats then they have hangers on them.. connect to a m shapped bracket in the centre... Shouldnt have damaged, there are flexis there. Dont let them push and prod it. just ask them to remove the mid and try and refit.. Is it a new zorst?

Yep, still think they fitted something upside down.. Ypipe and midpipe do sometimes have a right and a wrong way to fit! If its Steves why didnt you have it fitted at Abbey? Couldnt they get you in yesterday AM?
sparky370z
should have bloody gone down there, thought it was too far to go!! wish i had of really. i really dont think that the mid pipe can be installed upside down. as the hanger bracket is connected and OK. UNLESS the Y pipe could be fitted upside down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as it looks the same either way up. but there maybe a slight difference!!!! Ooh never thought of the Y-pipe! sparky370z
i went back to get this sorted today. however they are saying that it may have to have the mid pipe spilt then re welded to sort out the rubbing issues. personally i dont think this is the case. i have stuffed some ceramic cloth between the mid pipe and brace. this has sorted it temporally. i was thinking.... there was 2 holes either side of the mid pipe on the brace. perhaps i could get a U clamp and then bolt it though and hold the mid pipe tight onto the brace!! would this be OK? dcash5
Honestly it will be fit. Mine rubbed initially - slight twist of the mid pipe raised it off the center brace about 2 inch. I think down at fiddyz on Sat so in the local area if you want to meet up and check out mine mate Dan
