Anyway this car ive had for 4 days and the multitronic gearbox is shot at a potential repair cost £1400. Now where do i stand, ive informed him when i happened and had the car recovered to a garage of his choice. I'm still waiting to hear since the weekend on its progress. I'f he won't pay whats my legal/rights to get my money back Please help Austin
Anubis
I think all traders have to provide a minimum of 3 months warranty, regardless. http://www.smta.co.uk/public/codeofpractice.asp You're not the first: http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/ ... tm?t=49548 Goodluck! nixy
As a trader he has to provide a road worthy and fit for purpose car - bought as seen does not apply ever! He will have to sort it out, especially given its only FOUR days!
martinmac
He has sold a car which is not fit for purpose and as such you are well within your rights to get your money back or have it repaired.
