choptop
Let's face it, if any Car Manufacturer can keep a problem quiet they will. Only when the cost of litigation and paying out for 'damages' exceeds the cost of putting the problem right will they ever do anything
rtbiscuit
they denied all knowledge of their ever being a problem with the early 1zz engines and piston ring failure

R800NER
LOL, I have a prius for work and a 350z for play. Total opposites. One can go fast and stop fast. The other won't go fast and then doesn't stop!

stanski
Oh dont set me off on this one! All car makers have recalls all of the time I dont understand why the press have singled them out! To have the head of Toyota UK on the other night saying - dont panic and we are doing all we can, was cringeworthy. Then Head of Toyota Japan etc etc - cool it for goodness sakes talk about over kill! Now I hear Honda has a recall we so f***** what ! Good grief have we all become gay or something or is it that need to fill 24 hours of news on the TV again! You can bet the journalists are ferreting around to see it that recall on brake light bulbs failing on Vauxhalls will kill pedestrians at 50 paces! Did you get head of Bridgestone tyres or Ford saying sorry that their Explorer 4x4 can kill the drivers because the tread peels away from the tyre?
