Sandy
Hello folks, I've got a 2003 JDM Z and my road tax is £405 a year it was registered in the UK on 2006. Anyway am I right on this if you have 2003 Z from the UK the road tax is £215. If I am right is there anyway query this with DVLA as the UK and JDM z have the same emissions etc why should I be paying more. I queried this before but they just fobbed me off saying "its a 2006 car and that that road tax you need to pay" but its not thanks in advance for any info Sandy
UNABASHED
unlucky! if your car is registered after end of March 2006 its £405 but before end of March 2006 it's half that. Mine is import registered in UK the day before the cut off so I pay half price Plenty of threads about this on here if you fancy reading up more about it. Sandy
Tried that before ended getting transferred all around the place. Go nowhere their customer service was pretty poor. Was thinking if someone had been there and done it they would have the best phone number to use.

UNABASHED
it's is all cars, import or UK, that will be charged the higher figure if they were registered after march 2006. When in 2006 was your car registered? If it was after March 2006 then you just have to bite the bullet and pay as there is no way your going to get around it. did you not check all this before buying? Ekona
It's only another £200, in the grand scheme of running the car over a year it's peanuts and it wouldn't bother me too much.
nixy
This subject is often brought up - no matter what the year of manufacture they go by the date it was registered in the UK (unless you are one of the lucky ones they have got it wrong for.......... )
Sandy
Like Dan says it's only £200 but if there was a way around this I would rather have the money than the goverment. Guess there's not cheers anyway folks for looking at the post Sandy
