rtbiscuit
another new member on here was getting quotes of £2000 and i thought that was crazily high, but aiming for £3000 is insane, and getting quotes of £6000, i think thats the insurance companies trying to tell you something. good luck, but i reckon you might need to leave it a year. whats your location, might give a better idea of what we're dealing with. there are several specialist insurers on the forum, but they only tend to insure over 25's or people who have already clocked up a years experience in the car already. tonto
my quotes have been comming in around the 2K - 3K mark, depening on year of the car and such! although, with it being registered at my home adress, its 4k at the girlfriends, 2.2 mile up the road, it drops to the 2k mark! i spend 99% of my time there, so thats where it will be registered! as i work only 3 streets away from hers! rtbiscuit
f*ck me thats nearly £400 a month even at £3000 thats still £350 a month add fuel even on 1 tank a month thats about £80 if you spread the road tax theoretically over 12 months thats £12.50 or £24.50 depending on which age car you get. your looking at easily £500 a month running costs if you spread everything including mot's and services over the year. i'm guessing your job either pays really well or your still living at home with your parents

TADDY
im currently getting quotes as my insurance is up this month! best quote so far is admiral/bell £1400 but they wont give me a monthly option! also they will only cover my mods for up to £500 wich at £5000 worth of mods and rising just wont do. next best is A-plan £1560 mods coverd like for like and a monthly option wich makes it £1700 inc interest. im 23 with 3y ncb oh and when i was 21 i payed £1800 for a 10 month policy with ellephant

I think you have more money than sense mate and that's coming from somebody who was on that wage and bought a 350z at 20years old too. My insurance was more like £1500 and would is £900 for me at 21 now fully comp. Best advice, be patient and wait. The car WILL get cheaper, the insurance WILL drop in price too. Good luck buddy
Neilp
I'm with admiral, 21 when insurance took out. No no claims, crash in march for 5000 grand. I'm 1296. Try adding your parents as named drivers. Dropped my insurance over a grand with my mum and dad on it.

Try adding your parents as named drivers. Dropped my insurance over a grand with my mum and dad on it. I did the same with admiral. Add parents on and saved over a grand. Now down to 900 from Admiral. Thats with zero NCB.
neo-ninja
paying over about £1500 is mad, but anytthing close to £3000 is insane i would have said as you can pick up a Zed for £10k so you have almost payed the car off in 3 years in insurance alone! Im 24, 3 years NCB, and my insurance was a flat £1k, i thought that was a lot but i love having a nice car, and would rather get less meals out or games or clothes to pay for it... if that make sense... But each to thier own! However please dont tell me you are going to buy the car on finance and pay that kind of insurance!
tjp8
yeaqhh but my mum wont let me add her as a named driver coz she says its not fair and she dont wanna loose her ncd and i aint moaning about tax i dont rely mind i was just saying its the only difference , i dont wanna wait for the car i want it now lol u know what its like when ur excited ive already waited a year thats more than long enough i think , im guna sell the golf buy a z with the money then keep lookin around coz i get my ncd in august anyways and im sure il find a way around it , my mates mum said she might let me do it on her insureance seeing as im at her house nearly everyday i dont think itl rely matter if i insure it there or not , i dont wanna have to settle for a rx8 231 coz for some reason i can insure that for alot less than a z but i wont look as cool or have a sexy car and girls dig that lol , also could i have one fitted with a tow bar ? i needa tow my project car about lol ..
