richt
risk you take with any car really. Fair point, but I think that the odds of getting a Friday afternoon car are greater with a TVR than a Nissan! Still go for it.

rtbiscuit
i only remember it because my dad on a regular basis had to go and pick him up on the way to work because it was back in the garage. usually swearing that the f'ing tvr has f'ing gone back in again. i believe it ranged from issue to do with windscreen fitment to tappet problems. was never anything major, but always had something that needed doing. but as sarnie says find a good well looked after version and it should make life easier. my dads colleague didn't have a tamora, i think it was an older tvr, possibly a Griffith, but i can't remember
edgeydt50
i think part of the problem is that TVR's have such a bad reputation. my mate has a 1996 cerbera 4.2 and a 2001 Tuscan S. Both no problem, never broken down or had problems. Im sure the older cars did have more problems, like rusty fiats, not to say newer ones dont. Surely little niggles and a new clutch are part of ownership Well i need to do some more research into insurance etc but definitely a possibility for the summer. this is the one im interested in at the moment, http://www.racinggreentvr.com/carsforsa ... ockID=1889 Chris

Maccaman
It's a bit worrying that it had to have a factory engine rebuild at 17k
rtbiscuit
i prefer the t350 and sagaris
edgeydt50
find a tvr that hasn't had a rebuild...and it will need one. t350 i could only afford privately which im not sure i want to do...and i would never get insured on a sagaris at 22...if i had £40k to spend in the first place. martinopy
Tbh buddy i'd go for a t350 as well, I know a couple of guys with them and they have only had minor problems whereas guys I know with older models have had major problems. Imo another car which is readily available is a must.
srobrien
I really love the TVR range and would kill for a sagaris. My mate has a Chimaera and its never out the garage, its always breaking down, falling to bits or getting waterlogged. I don't know what the newer ones are like for reliability but then again if you are a member of this site then practicality probably isn't high up on your list of requirements for a car so I would go for it R

M13KYF
I love them but even a dealership that sold TVR and Lotus recomended that I should buy the Lotus doe to unreliability issues that I would incur. A past member here has got the 350c and he says it is liek what you here but fortunately he has a company mechanic. Just to change the battery or to jump start it you had to take the NS wheel off. Bought the Zed instead

Valid point. BUT, as much as I love them, TVR's have the reputation for a reason. A good friend of mine had a T350C Red Rose that did actually spend more time in the garage than working for the year he had it. And it took £6k from his wallet. The Step Father in law has an immaculate Griffith 500. Sprint magazine cover car, cherished, used rarely, garaged - has been recovered several times. And I know of many others that have been in the same position. As long as you go into the situation expecting it, you'll love it.
