nicon2k
As some of you may know, the government has been forced to disclose MOT Stats on all cars http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/opensecrets/2010/01/mot_failure_rates_released.html This is the bit relating to the Zed. Obviously its not the full picture but still intresting. A more detailed break down on what they failed on can be found here http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/opensecrets/MOT_Make_Model_Comp_2007.xls Year of Test Test Failure Make Model First Use Passes Failures Rate NISSAN 350 Z 2002 128 49 27.7% 2003 740 139 15.8% 2004 1,779 335 15.8% 2005 31 7 18.4% 2006 1 1 50.0% NISSAN 350 Z Total 2,679 531 16.5% Sorry about the grid spacing, looks fine in the edit window! Chris`I
Interesting reading. Put it into a code section which makes it easier to space out

jamesyj
Certainly makes for interesting reading. Although there are a fair few cars which have failed because of "drivers view of the road". I feel this is a slight injustice to the car because the owner didn't action a stone chip on the windscreen.
Stew
Interesting in gauging the numbers in the UK too as imports need MOT'd too, unless they are under fairlady???? Looks like stone chips, worn tyres and worn brakes are the biggest culprits. Nothing unusual there!

rich5259
looks like the 2006 that failed had a bald tyre and blown bulb - stupid reasons for failing that the owner should have sorted
nicon2k
Can anyone identify their car as par of the stats?
Chris`I
My car will be one of the lighting ones for 2003 as I had a side light out last time. Although Nissan replaced it for free (no mean feat in the Zed!) and retested it immediately, so dont know if the retest cancels that out as it was all in a day
