Earning money from home....? Any suggestions...?

Hey all,

Due to reasons which i wont go into, my other half has just given up her job. She wants to do some work from home for these random companies offering 'Earn yourself an extra £300 a week' type of deals...

Does anyone know if there are any that are actually legit? Or are they all just bullsh!t?

Any recommendations on how to earn some extra dollar?

Cheers.

All BS mate......all they are are networking companies........pay £50 to join....get 3 others to join....they all get 3 others etc etc...I'd be very very suprised if you could show me one that didn't require an initial outlay of some sort........

if it sounds to good to be true, it usually is.

if its like a pyramid scheme the only person who tends to make money is the person who started it.

like the good old one "if you want to be rich ring this number to find out how" usually a premium rate number and the answer phone message tells you to " start a premium rate number, tell people they can get rich by ringing it and sit back and watch the money come rolling in"

the only job i can think of that lets you earn money while laying down is prostitution and i don't think thats a route she'll want to take.

although you could make good money as a pimp, all you need to do is find your self some hoe's ;)

Ok thanks for the serious comments folks. Have probably saved me some time as i wont bother looking into these ideas now. Something like Avon, or anything else that can be run from home?

Who said anything about lying down? She wants to be at home, and we're not looking to make big money, just something to keep her busy while bringing in some money at least. :(

some publishing companies look for people to put togehter leaflets into envelopes,

had a friend who used to do anne summers parties, she made a steady income.

was at a recent food fair and jamie oliver has set up his own version of a cooking party. bit like anne summers parties but with cooking stuff.

i know someone else who makes their own cards and sells them on.

any of those help?

There are a few market research jobs around mate where you do prediscussed telephone interviews, ie not soliciting, but calling people that have said yes to being asked their opinions... If shes up for a bit of outside work then the same companies lok for secret shoppers...

If shes any good on the old typing front there are services that will drop off or email audio files from people like solicitors that need typing up and also if shes any good at the english language then there is also proof reading...

What did she do before she decided to take some time out?

Great suggestions mark and rich. We'll start looking into them.

Yes, she speaks english

She's currently an admin assistant but is taking time out to recuperate. Its been a tough year for her as her mum died and she's not coping too well. Her last day is on Friday.

Im after the work more to keep her busy than make a career/money out of. Luckily i had already decided to sell my zed to start saving for a house, else i'd have given her a slap and told her to go back to work...

Sounds silly but volunteer work might help keep her busy and make her feel better. Nothing gives you a warm fuzzy feeling like helping people.

If any money making opportunities came along she can cut down on the voluntary stuff and get herself back into the working mindset.

If her admin work was specialised (accounts etc) then she might be able to help a small business (think sole traders in trade jobs etc) keep up their books or something.

I was thinking about that and now you say about her circumstances then volunteer work could be a good thing, esp as it will mean she will be out of the house and talking to other people... Could help her recuperation :)
