M13KYF
A Swiss millionaire has been handed down a record speeding fine of $290,000 (£180,000) by a court. The man was reportedly caught driving a red Ferrari Testarossa at 137km/h (85mph) through a village. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8446545.stm
Beavis
Kin hell Makes our £60 seem a little paltry Though i have a mate that teaches golf there and i know that they are very strict on speeding.
Maccaman
Clarkson always says the Swiss authorities hate cars. That fine is ridiculous & has no bearing on the offence.
Stew
I'm sure the swiss (and some other nations) base the speeding fines on wealth and income. Our 60 quid is paultry in comparison but not if you are a student or very low earner with every penny accounted for. If a court hands out a fine that made you think - oh dear where am I going to find that??? Then (in my opinion) the courts have done their job as you'll think twice about doing it again.
