maz77
just re-thinking my cars exhaust and contemplating this: after market headers (equal length) ===> full decats ===> after market Y pipe (?? NISMO) ===> single pipe (to tip) containing ONE 100 cell cat +/- a silencer. from Y pipe to tip fixed diameter (3"). 1. will this pass an MOT? 2. is this a near perfect exhaust setup for a 350z (N/A)? 3. what sort of gains could I expect after a remap? 4. am I right in assuming I would need to reposition the O2 sensors +/- antif's? advice much appreciated
Ekona
Any cat should pass the MOT so I can't see an issue there, and you shouldn't need to move the O2 sensors but you will need to use the anti foulers to get them up and out of the gas flow as you would with a normal decat. Beavis
I thought you would be ok with high flow cats but not de-cats?
DavidS14
You might have issues with temperature though as I thought that the cats have to maintain a high temperature in order for the reaction with the exhaust gases to be maintained, that's why they are usually as far forward as they can be. yokomo
+1 afaik they need to be right after the manifold or at the Y to work. theres a thread on here nearby about a Y+cat that would allow your setup think its made by motordyne as part of an inter changable Y pipe for silencers or pipe or cat.
