+1 on the colour

What I'd like to know is how the hell do you get into it? ..... you look like quite a big guy and I know from experience that even with a wafer thin seat, access is difficult ....... even for a short ass like me :)

Thanks for the comments guys!

I haven't got a photo of it yet with the GT40 as it's suffering from a faulty electronic ignition but should manage that soon. As for getting into it, yes it is difficult , im 6ft 2 and it's tight. Basically the seat on a 40 has quite a rearward rake to it , so actually headroom is just about ok, i miss the roof by about 1 inch!. The problem is foot room. I've cut away some of the dashboard moulding underneath to get my knees under ok, but you need to wear race shoes to have any chance on the pedals. I built the pedalbox myself from an old triumph spitfire box modified and have moved it as far back as i can in the footwell. Im getting some new seats soon which have a fibreglass shell instead of a frame, that makes them a bit thinner and will give me another inch or too , which is always welcome!! . As i said im driving to Le Mans in it in the summer so really need to lose a bit of bit of weight and length!!

To be honest when you are in it and you hear a virtually unsilenced small block ford open up a few inches behind your head , your ears have more pain than your body!!. But thats the way i like it !!

I took a photo with my VX for a comparison.

I was asked for a comparison between the two, and they are certainly very different but exciting in different ways. The VX has a stage 2 tune so it has 250bhp and 255 lb/ft torque at 2,700 rpm. It is without doubt the best allround sportscar you can buy for reasonable money and run on a budget. It's blows Elises and Exiges into the weeds with all that torque and is fabulous around a country lane. It has a better ride quality than my Zed (but i do have 19's which i guess doesnt help) yet it's great around a track , i go to the ring every year and regularly do Silverstone , Mallory and Combe. My Zed is of course slower, especially off the line due to the huge weight difference, but the zed has a nice steering response and great body control, and doesnt feel too sloppy next to the VX. It does feel a heavy car but that's not a negative comment, i like the solidity and it sounds miles better than a turbo 4 pot ever will. (even better when i get an exhaust!). My zed will be my everyday car as i now have a job on my doorstep and don't need a diesel anymore. To sum up i would say the Zed feels special at 30 mph just cruising and the VX feels special when you are wringing it's neck! If anyone here is thinking of their next sportscar i couldnt recommend one highly enough but getting in an out on a daily basis is a bit of a pain especially with the roof down. Great car though.
