alessandro
Got a Nismo 1 front bumber which is not yet been fitted due lack of time, got a UK style number plate a little bit smaller than a standard one , but , owning a JDM car i would also like to keep the square plate on it. What do you think of the pic below? Is it a bit OTT/ boyracer or not? Cant decide
srobrien
Looks fine, alothough i think the law is that it needs to be upright and flat, as its at a bit of a jaunty angle you may get some attention. R
Dene8
I'm facing the same dilemma when my Nismo N2 bumper goes on after Xmas. I was contemplating leaving the square plate or maybe a vinyl plate but I’m unsure of the legalities of vinyl..? Square plates are what makes us JDM owners noticeable so I’m reluctant to change. gunmetalzgt
I'd fit the JDM plate( not the totally square one but the rectange one) with slightly smaller letters (motorbike ones) in the centre with strong double sided tape.
Anubis
Mine has been left JDM standard on my Nismo: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=24968 Looks fine to me and perfectly legal.

ATTAK Z
Mine has been left JDM standard on my Nismo:Looks fine to me and perfectly legal. Does the position of your plate affect cooling at all Darren? (PS ... I'm not technical)
nrenz123
Is it legal to fit a JDM style plate to the front of a UK car?
alessandro
Is it legal to fit a JDM style plate to the front of a UK car? I think that as long it has the right spacing should be fine. Attack: I don't think that on a normal day to day use of the car the cooling gets effected
rtbiscuit
i did a temporary fix with my nismo i cut down my plate and mounted it onto a plastic block that fits perfectly onto the centre square. my plan is to do a retractable jobbie like this http://www.swiftmotorsports.com/product ... e771cba318 so i can then put a nice red tow hook eye in the front. alessandro
That look good too! Where would you "hide" the plate? I think that a "compartment" under an N1 bumper would be too low
rtbiscuit
That look good too!Where would you "hide" the plate? I think that a "compartment" under an N1 bumper would be too low as far as i can tell it just sits under the car.
Sarnie
That look good too!Where would you "hide" the plate? I think that a "compartment" under an N1 bumper would be too low N1 bumper is no lower than a standard bumper
rtbiscuit
got a reply from them Richard, the bracket attatches to the bottom of the bumper with 4 screws. You need a flat spot around 3" wide by 9" long from the bottom front edge of the bumper. Keep in mind that it will add about 1.5" to the bottom when retracted, so if you are already low, you may scrape. Shipping to the UK is an additional $25. To order, just give me a call at the shop tomorrow and I'll process it over the phone,
alessandro
That was quick! As said it does look good but with the speed bumps that we got in the UK it could become a prob . I was up in B'ham over xmas and I scrapped the bottom on a speed bump at a very low speed

rtbiscuit
this is how i have mine mounted at the moment didn't get chance t get properly under the car to have a look for a flat spot. if memory serves me right their is a rubber/plastic aero lip that runs underneath the bumper which would be in the way. but that can be easily modified. my plan is if i can't mount it direct to the undertray then i'll fabricate up a bracket for it to mount on to. if someone has a picture of the undereneath of the front of the car it would be helpful
