rtbiscuit
my number plate is mounted in my grille area (although it is in to a nismo bumper) but i cut the plate down as small as i could to take up as little space as possible. i have not noticed anything detrimental to performance or over heating
ATTAK Z
Thanks for that Rich ... how would you mount the plate to the grill?
srobrien
another issue he pointed out was with cheaper mesh designs. he told me that their grilles are designed to provide as little air resistance as possible, cheap pressed mesh designs drastically reduce air flow to the radiator. Not wanting to cause any arguments but how can it be? Surely placing one grille on top of another grill will reduce the airflow further than having a single pressed mesh directly in front of the radiator? R no arguments caused not my words. i assume he meant one type of grille in direct comparison to another, the cut out of the original slats not counted?? not sure, and i wouldnt like to make assumptions on his behalf I will ask for clarification from him but he did stress that flat pressed grilles were really bad for airflow. any questions i will ask for you guys no problem
Husky
another issue he pointed out was with cheaper mesh designs. he told me that their grilles are designed to provide as little air resistance as possible, cheap pressed mesh designs drastically reduce air flow to the radiator. the above leads me to a question Husky ... do you think that it will be possible to fix the number plate to the Zunsport grill and, in your opinion, would this still provide enough cooling air to the radiator ? If so the numberplate mounting paraphernalia could be shaved, the bumper filled and sprayed, and the result would be a smooth, clean and imo better looking front end honestly mate i have no idea about the air flow requirements of the 350z's radiator so wouldnt be qualified to answer They were telling me; zunsport do more than just the small quantity retail orders, thats just their sideline, they are a large scale supplier for automotive manufacturers and have been for 10 years. so i imagine they have tested quoted from thier site, if it helps?
