Tuning options?

Hey, I am thinking about a remap sometime next year, problem is I live in the back of beyond and am nowhere near any of the good tuners, so I have three options.

1. Buy a piggyback ecu and have it tuned somewhere decent in scotland (if there is one)

2. Drive about 12 hours to go to Abby

3. Drive to Teeside (stay with rellies) then scoot down to RSTuning.

Are there any options ive missed and does anyone know of any good tuners in Scotland.

Alex is your best bet there mate, and as he has travelled to use Abbeys services then you may have answered your own question!

Oh and if you get uprev and then get a cypher cable then you have a way of being in contact with the ECU and ability to load more info! Am sure Mark will explain fully the joys of the Cypher cable!!

Sounds interesing, Its just the drive I can be arsed with, did it a few years ago to go to gatwick and swore never again.

It depends how good the results are i suppose.

Lol! As always! Most with uprev now seem to be coming out at about 268 at the hubs, (Mod dependant!) but its not just about the BHP.

I took another member out in my car for a blast the other day and he said he could feel the torque difference in mine and that was as a passanger. Then took him out in Abbeys JDM track car.... I think hes still smiling after he took the wheel !! (I do need a carbon clutch and stoptechs in my life!!)

Also Abbey do full servicing so you could get that all done at the same time... And any other mods! Like alignment and chassis setup

If it needs an over night stay, I dont live far away and your more than welcome to crash (not litteraly!) .. As long as you like dogs!

i vagely remember abbey offering a base map. it might be possible to send your ecu to them, they crack it and load the base map and send it back for you to refit. only downside is it won't be perfectly tuned to your car, so you might not make quite as much gains on it as a custom job.

Yeah, I was thinking about this but it would be nice to have live mapping done so i can see what they are doing

I was looking at Bennets 'GT4 ZEDs'.... not really the right time for me at the mo but if I bought one what would I gain ? does it destrict the 120mph top speed on an import ? sorry if these are dumb questions but I dont know the answers

I was talking about the Unichip piggyback ecu I know "It's not just data squirted into your car, it's a fully functional computer working seamlessly with your car's engine management system" I didnt write that by the way ;) I guess what I want is someone who knows about them on here to tell me the gains in lehmans... and what I need to do to de-restrict the 120mph cap on my car

just go to abbey and get a remap done on the standard ECU will do all that for you.

£350 ish all in; done; dusted; and live tuned to your car.

you can come and crash at mine bring the wife, and baby, we'll make an evening of it, and lucy would enjoy the company and she loves babies.
