SunGodRA
Anybody bought anything from this site? As a bit of an IT guru, I feel ashamed to say I may have fallen victim to an internet scam! I broke my compact camera whilst on holiday, and have been meaning to get a new one ever since. The Canon Ixus 95IS seemed to be a good choice; top of PC Pro A list and many other reviews for a cheap compact 'point and shoot' camera. Argos had this for sale at £119 a couple of weeks ago, but when I went to reserve online tonight the price had gone up to £149. Cutting a long story short - I did a google search and http://www.bitesizedeals.co.uk was on the top of the search results, and the price was £118 delivered!. I have seen this company appear in many search results for different products over the years, and assumed they were legit. I ordered there and then and put in my card details etc and got an instant order acknowledgement to my hotmail account - then the alarm bells went off! the email I received was flagged in red by Microsoft with possible dangerous content. I then did a google search on the company, and apparently although they have a .co.uk domain, they are based in the states and there are hundreds of bad reports about items never received etc. Total scam from what I can see I promptly sent them an email to cancel the order and requesting an immediate refund - but I don't hold out much hope! Are there any legal boffins out there that can let me know where I stand on this? Suffice to say, it feels like someone has bent me over and royally rogered me up the bum, and I'm not happy! Any advice welcome, thanks, Dave

SunGodRA
UPDATE! just received this.... (is it me, or does this sound like it was written by either a teenager or a foreign person How should I reply??) Dear Customer, We have received your inquire and your product is in stock, which will shipped tomorrow and your should receive it early next week. Regarding your concern for our website, which does state that we are based from the us, we will like to assure you that we are a secure company. Please advise if you like to continue with your order. Thank you and regards. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Order Number BK-091203-221454-1486 From: David Slee Date: Thu, December 03, 2009 4:24 pm To: I tonight placed an order for a Canon Ixus 95IS camera. I was concerned that when I received an order acknowledgement to my Hotmail account, Microsoft blocked the content with a scam warning. I have since researched your company and it does appear you are not as legitimate as you claim - the fact that you are based in the US with a .co.uk domain means you are hiding something. I have also read 100's of reviews stating this whole venture is a scam. I therefore wish to cancel this order with immediate effect, and demand an immediate refund of the funds you have taken from my debit card. I look forward to your response David Slee

Chris`I
Afraid to say Liam is correct, you're most likely screwed! Always - ALWAYS - pay with Credit card on the net. Every major card provider will cover you for purchases for such problems. As an IT guru you should have already known this, but no point dwelling on it. I would get down Argos, and cut your losses and buy one Unless you know an actual address of where they are registered (and are actually based), you will have no joy chasing them with legal action as they cant put a claim on someone when they dont know where they are or who they really are. I for one always pay with card, even when using PayPal. So if some theiving scum tries to take my money and even PP cant get it back, the CC company will chase up for the money off them and immediately refund me the money. BRO-T
As a victim myself, also an IT guru, you need to notify your bank ASAP! Cancel your card and get them to monitor the activty on your account. They stole my card details and then spent a fortune of my money. I was able to prove that it wasn't me and eventually got all the money back. Good luck
