introspect
Went to Westway Nissan Stockport a few months ago to make a warranty claim for two alloys which had the dreaded bubbling (only very small amount but it was there). Took a longer than I expected and had to chase them up a few times (so nothing unusual there) but I ended up getting all 4 alloys replaced! I have noticed that they don't have the blue dots on them so I assume they must be refurbs. This doesn't really bother me as two of the wheels they replaced didn't have any corrosion and I had kerbed them a bit, so can't really complain. Overall a bit of a result! richt
Good result. Was it still under warranty?
introspect
Yeah, thought I might as well get them done while under warranty. Just hope these don't start bubbling
Ekona
They will, can guarantee it. Get some protection on the wheels while they're nice and new, I can highly recommend FK1000 sealant as good stuff.
introspect
Sounds like a good idea! Where's the best place to get some?
T8 JPE
i got 4 brand new rays off west way a couple of months ago. Put some rim wax on as soon as i got them and give them a good clean every week to keep them free from brake dust and salt. The bloody things will still bubble anyways i can imagine
Ekona
Sounds like a good idea! Where's the best place to get some? Clicky Really easy to put on and take off and leaves a great finish on the wheels. Makes 'em so much easier to clean as well, the dirt literally just slides off. richt
Noticed a small bit off bubbling on 2 of my Rays last weekend, just after its out of warranty.
Number86
I have bubbling too. I'm not overly worried. My old car had bubbling wheels for the almost 3 years I owned it. It did get worse, but not by any significant amount. If and when it gets to a point the wheels look awful it's a £200 refurb job. Unless of course Nissan finish wheels as well as Lexus do... Spen
Any idea if this would be covered under an extended warranty too, as my car is on its 2nd year of the extended warranty and I have bubbling on one of my rears.
Ekona
Almost certainly no chance, but do check your documents to see just in case. It's only cosmetic damage which no extended warranty I've ever seen covers.
MITZ@CougarStore
Spen, I believe it only applies to the 3 year Manufacturers Warranty, well worth contacting Nissan to make sure...
