geoff-r Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I'm just trying to do a bit of research before I take the plunge but I'm trying to get peoples reviews of websites/companies that sell wheels internationally. I say internationally because they can usually be cheaper, but then I may stand corrected on this? I'm specifically looking into a set of Rays, most likely 19" TE37's as I'm a sucker for TE's after owning a set on my Honda before buying my 350. Quote
geoff-r Posted November 30, 2009 Author Posted November 30, 2009 Good to get a review of either side. Have you bought wheels from outside of the UK? Whereas they may be cheaper, I'm not so sure customs take lightly to them? Quote
Ian Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I bought my wheels from Envy I have bought a lot of other stuff from Adam though & he regularly ships to the UK. Quite a few others have bought wheels from him Quote
clarkie34 Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Just be aware by the time you have added shipping and import tax onto them you are virtually at the same price as buying in the uk. Quote
geoff-r Posted November 30, 2009 Author Posted November 30, 2009 Just be aware by the time you have added shipping and import tax onto them you are virtually at the same price as buying in the uk. That was my reservation with the so called hidden costs. Quote
martinmac Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I have bought parts from Adam and he knows what he is doing. The prices are good so its just a matter of the extras. Having bought more wheels than most I wouldnt have any problem with getting them from any trader on here. Quote
BulletMagnet Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I bought my Volks from Envy South, excellent service. Arrived in the morning, went to local tyre fitters, fitted Volks, left my Rays at Envy South till I picked them up. Quote
Chris`I Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Yup, agree with the others. Adam@Z1auto or Envy will sort you out. Watch out for the lead times on them, they can vary quite a lot. Adam has a canny knack for getting hold of very sort after and rare rims. Give them both a PM and they will quote the costs, no hidden charges. Should be noted Adam will always quote the exact value of the item on the Customs slip so that if anything happens, the insurance will pay out the full amount, unlike a lot of US places which quote it low to save on tax, but then wont pay out if anything happens in transit. For reference, I had a set of Bride seat rails delivered from Adam to my desk at work in under 5 days Quote
martinmac Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Also worth having a chat to Andy who has some great wheels. Quote
