Husky
oh just shoot me now for posting such a mundane and boring topic i just installed a plenum spacer. finish up and then switch car on, car goes engine warning light and both TC lights on. oh and like a little rollercoaster on idle. so me swtiches off, disconnect battery, wait, reconnect. no use. so i do yonder ECU reset procedure, fair enough my xmas tree display of lights has gone but i am still on the lumpy idle rollercoaster what to do!!? hope the pictures helped explain
BladesGrant
Have you made sure that you haven't trapped the ruuber surround of the oil in the upper plenum. No air leaks or hissing sounds from around the plenum?
TADDY
may seem daft but you havent traped the rubber oil surround in the plenum have you? could cause an air leek

Husky
and great minds are kinda correct so one of the plenum bolts although torques correctly (i believe) isnt all the way in, after previous bolt sheering joy im paranoid about tightening it more oh and i may be sure theres another bloody leek but untill i sort this one LIKE A SIEVE !!! grrrr electrical A- mechanical F (see me after class)
BladesGrant
When i fitt mine I was a screw driver with bolt attachment. That way you can't really over tighten them as the screw driver should just slip in your hand. That is unless you have a grip like a gorrilla!!!! Husky
That is unless you have a grip like a gorrilla!!!! *whistles* thats why im using a torque wrench ok so i sorted it kind of. so one of the bolts i dont know for sure and dont want to test it, but i think it was a tad too long so i swapped it out for a slightly shorter one. that seems fine now (was on the top 6) BUT i can hear a his from the side now im going to take more off and investigate. oh but the idels got better, and am i imagining it or does the induction sound louder and better now? <-- uber grin
BladesGrant
It does make it sound a little deeper. Will probably be even better when you don't have any leaks as well!!!
Ekona
I wouldn't drive it like that for any length of distance either until fixed, as you've got a leak post-MAF which is very bad for the engine. Good luck with it though, nothing more satisfying than fixing something yourself.

At a guess i'd say he overtightened the bolts using torque wrench set to correct torque so cant have been it got stiff but didnt click, i decided to trust the torque setting. maybe im just @*!#.
