ade2009
Hi all.. As from some of my previous posts you may know I am about to get a 350Z swapping from a 2001 TT.. Just one question I would appricateid someone could answer for me?? with the 350Z obvously being more powerful and being rear wheel drive.. Is the ESP going to keep a novice Z driver out of trouble. particularly in the wet?? Thanks.

IanS16
I find the traction control rubbish but the ESP to be very good!! Haven't felt it kick in too often but it does work
stanski
found it to be very good - but the back will still twitch if your have the original Bridgestones!
CaptainSensible
Unless you drive like a moron the ESP will keep you out of trouble
ade2009
Thanks all. Think you can understand i don't want to get the car and then spin it into a tree I did test one in the wet I never felt amy lose of traction.. But that was on;y a 10 minutes test and i don't know the car that well.
maxi-glasgow
Simple rule of thumb is don't be putting the boot down when going round a roundabout or tight bend in the wet and all will be well.

Thanks.. I'm really looking forward to Monday when I get my Zed. It's got to be one of the best if not the best sounding cars I have ever heard.. ade2009
Its not my first RWD did have a mark 2 MR2 once.. I span that round the other way once or twice, mind you no traction controll of course of esp anything like that.. But not anywhere near the power of the Zed. martinmac
As the guys say, just watch yourself on wet roundabouts. Especially ones with petrol stations on them.
ade2009
Ok will do.. I suppose once I'm used to how the car behaves I'll be ok..
jamesyj
The traction control will keep you out of trouble I would have thought. When you've had the car a few weeks, on a deserted wet roundabout, whilst going slowly, just jab the throttle in 2nd and you'll see what happens. Oh and +1 on the petrol station comment. I nipped out in front of a train of cars the other day, waited til the car was straight to start with some throttle, wheel spin, ok, 2nd, wheelspin, crikey, 3rd, wheelspin All progressive throttling, circa 3,000rpm. It seemed as my car gained about 400bhp just filling up.
ade2009
Talking of filling up.. What is the best fuel to fill up with?? Always used Shell V power in the TT..
Rentech
Talking of filling up..What is the best fuel to fill up with?? Always used Shell V power in the TT.. Use Shell V power or Tesco super myslef, can't say I've noticed a difference. My first RW drive car so can't compare the ESP with others but it has tidied the rear up a few times for me nice and quickly
jerry3167
Good advice here! I feel the bridgestones were fine on wet roundabouts, if you drive like a ****, you`ll soon find out!
jamesyj
Good advice here! I feel the bridgestones were fine on wet roundabouts, if you drive like a ****, you`ll soon find out! I'm on RE050 on the rear and RE050a on the front. I dread to think what 350's are like on RE040's in those slippery situations.
