Fat Eddy
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum (though I have been lurking for some time... ) Anyway, I've been planning to buy 350z but I can't seem to be able to find a decent quote anywhere. I'm 28, 8 NCB, 0 points on my license, live in north London - yet the cheapest quote I can find for a UK spec 350z is approx £650 and for an import it's pretty much £1000 (bell.co.uk)! Which seems ridiculously high to me. Am I being unrealistic here?
M13KYF
have you tried Chris Knott
nurrish
I'd take the 650 and be happy at that for many people 650 is cheeeeeep!!!!
Madmarky
Also try Sky on here mate, i was 30 with 10 years NCB and got for around £450 ish with my mods declared.
Harman350z
I am 21, 2 years NCB, 0 points, 52 plate, import, £1100 = Admiral (Admiral is quite popular on here i believe) Admiral & Bell are sister companies so try getting a quote with bell, then call admiral & they will better it. Zteve
Admiral have always been the best for me i'm 24 with 5 ncb, 0 points £450 annually with a £500 excess.
sparky370z
im 26, 0 points, 8 NCB with my mrs(23) as well it came to £650. didnt think that was too bad TBH. with admiral age, after 25, doesnt really effect the quote too much. unless your a right old duffer. seems like an ok quote you got there. Fat Eddy
Thanks for the advice fellas. I'll have a look at the specialist insurers because so far the majors have been rubbish! In your opinion though, how much should I be expecting to pay for insurance (I know every case is different but just a guestimate would be helpful) I'd take the 650 and be happy at that for many people 650 is cheeeeeep!!!! I know, but at 28 with 8 NCB - I'd expect to get better....
webber
I'm 26 with 6 years NCB and 3 points....I pay £520 with ESURE. Maybe give them a try?
KJ.
I'm 24, 6yrs NCB, 3points, my old woman as a named driver and pay £940 with Admiral. This is the first time I've paid less than £1k for insurance since I started driving so I'm happy!!
Fat Eddy
I tried Esure ----> We are continuing your quote with our sister brand, First Alternative, as esure is unable to give you a quote under its current policy acceptance criteria WTF!? nixy
Yeah Esure won't quote the zed for me either. I'm with Bell. I'm guessing it may be down to location rather than your personal details. Not saying you live in a dodgy area but the postcode maybe gets lumped in with other areas? Try Keith Michaels - they did a good deal for me when i first got the zed. Particular good for insuring imports. http://www.keithmichaels.co.uk/
Woody
Try Admiral. Im 22 with 4yrs NCB and no points. I pay about 800 Full comp.

tmJak
Have you tried adding an older female driver like your Mum? Really lowers mine.

goatboy
I'm 31, 9 years NCB, and no points living in West London and my policy was about £550 with admiral. (Car 100% standard, + GF on the policy). Chris Knott could beat the price but only with a higher excess. £650 sounds about right really. I noticed my insurance dropped a little once I turned 30... Harman350z
Have you tried adding an older female driver like your Mum? Really lowers mine. +1 I added my father as a named driver, knocked £400 off my premium (i dont let him drive it )
Fat Eddy
Have you tried adding an older female driver like your Mum? Really lowers mine. Yeah, the £650 quote from Bell.co.uk/Admiral did have my Mother as an additional driver (+£350 excess). Without her on it, it's closer to £750. I'll chase up on the independents (Chris Knotts, Keith Micheals etc) today and report back later.
Fat Eddy
Ok, so I contacted Adrian Flux, Sky & Chris Knott. Both Sky and Adrian Flux gave me quotes that were +£1000.... Chris Knott quoted me £630* UK Spec/ £680 Import (which is the cheapest quote I found for an import BY FAR!!). So it looks the Fairlady is back on my radar again which helps moneywise! It looks like Chris Knott's probably the one...all have to do is buy the damned thing now! Thanks for the tips fellas. *Still too high imo but looks like the best I can get.
