P19DRO
Hi guys, Starting to get a long list of problems and set backs with the car. First of all I fitted the sound system and now the nearside wing mirror electrics dont work and the window doesnt retract completely. The windows are an easy fix if I can get be bothered getting round to it. I fitted Hel brake lines, now the brake pedal seems dead spongy, so it needs bleeding again ... but I lost the locking wheel nut ... so I need to find a way to get them off and fit the new ones. My belts are squeaking so much it is driving me crazy and I have mangled the main belt adjuster nut, so I will have to get a set of mole grips or something on that and get a new one and Im not even sure if it is the belts or the alternator . Im loosing my patience with it a wee bit, even though most of it is my fault lol. HELP ME

srobrien
think its time you let the professionals do the work +1 Sorry mate, your not having much luck. You should be able to buy a tool for removing the locking nut and just buy a set of after market nuts. There is a proper procedure on here for changing brake fluid so you don't get air in the lines. clarkie34
I know where your coming from mate.I attempted to remove my headlights was told it would take an hour,5 hours later I gave up.Demolished a box of lager and phoned a garage the morning after. Pay someone to have the aggro and sit back it's easier and less stressful.

gunmetalzgt
I've had similar problems but mine was done by professionals! first i had a nut round off on my spacers because some idiot at kwick fit over tightened them. (i needed to change the front wheel hub because the bearing was gone) then after 3 hours of trying my mechanic cut it out but wrecked the spacer. i then bought another pair of spacers and because they were 25mm instead of 20 i had them put on the back. i also had the rear wheel bearing changed. yesterday i was happy as larry driving my car and then i realised that when the steering is at 11o'clock im going straight, so i realised that i need to spend another load of money to get the laser alignment done again. so a trip on monday to CS. this morning i found a funny looking thing next to the rear wheel of my car.(on my driveway) picked it up, looked like a locking wheel nut but without the thread. looked at the wheel and basically the locking nut was broken. so now i have another problem with removing that from the stud! WTF is going on? if i get the alignment done and then theres a load of banging going on afterwards to remove the remains of the lock nut then it might be knocked off again! this is all made worse because i work away from home all week so im only here on weekends and monday mornings!! sorry about the rant guys
P19DRO
Yeah I like trying it for myself and then put it into the garage if it goes a bit awry, I took your advice vik, the garage is getting it on Monday. But I feel a bit better it isn't just me that is ambitious but rubbish lol
