Mark@blueboys
Hi, just got my Z and have noticed that every time i turn the engine off, just as it stops theres a slight rattle noise from under the car, i know its comming from the gearbox, and it dosent do it if i stop the engine with my foot on the clutch. Also if i have the window down i think the gears sound a bit rattley when changing from 1st to 2nd at slow speed, apart from the noises the gears feel perfect and the oil is cleen, just wondering if this is just a characteristic of the car?? and has anybody got the same noise? Cheers!

MacW
Can't help you with the rattle at switch off but I also get a noise when changing gears at low speed (although more of a clonk than a rattle). I read somewhere on here that it's fairly normal behaviour so haven't worried about it.
Mark@blueboys
i dont think it would show up on a recording, yes the noise is more of a 'clunk' when changing gear thinking about it. its the rattle thats a bit anoying when showing people your nice new car, and they say oooo what was that rattle noise? im like shut up! lol
3FIDDYZ
Weird question but original or aftermarket knob? There is normally a little brass cuff that fits in the knob on the OEM, sometimes this can work loose and cause a rattle that can carry on through to the gearbox and amplify! Remove knob and have a look, or tighten up and see!
ZMANALEX
Sounds like gearbox idler gear or Dual Mass fly on way out.
