BulletMagnet
Ray (SilentKK8) and I popped over to Leicester to have some work done to our Zeds. CS and Andy were there to do the jobs in hand. First up was Ray. His was clutch basically at the end of its life, so he decided to have a Exedy Uprated clutch and a Fidanza flywheel fitted. Rays car going on the ramps first Andy then proceeded to remove the y-pipe and the prop shaft Which left us with this Then Andy and CS removed the gearbox With nothing else to do, Ray decided it was a good time for some "Gearbox Rodeo" This is the old clutch after gearbox removal Old clutch and fly removed Time to get the new clutch ready... Exedy vs OEM Cleaned up New Fidanza fly fitted first New bearing on the 'box new clutch in place New bright yellow HEL clutch cable fitted also Job done. It was amazing then picking up the Fidanza fly and then picking up the OEM fly, what a difference!!! The OEM clutch was really really worn too. Only issue we had with Rays work was on the way back, as he has mentioned in his thread. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=27315 Then it was my turn As of recent, I noticed some grinding noises coming from the driverside rear. I suspected that the inner pad had worn down severely. Since I was also still running OEM pads on my front Dixcel discs, I opted to have all the pads and the rear discs replaced. These were the items of choice: DBA 4000 Series slotted rear discs and Endless SSS pads all round Replaced the front pads first. I watched Andy to one side and then did the other side myself. I was amazed how easy it was to do. Here's one I done earlier Then onto the rears. The driver side was done first and upon removal of the disc and pads, my suspicions were proven right. The inner pad had worn down to the metal and the disc was scored badly from the grinding New disc and pads fitted Everything was put back together and the handbrake was adjusted. I'm very happy with my brakes now, no more grinding and stopping power has increased. Again, I'd like to thank CS and Andy for the work done today. Great guys and highly recommended

Chris`I
Great job guys. After seeing Andy change a clutch, you can see why he's build like a brick sh!tshouse! Will be interested to hear how you both get on with your respective upgrades
R800NER
I would also like to hear how the clutch/flywheel has improved/impaired your driving and if the noise that it makes on idle is really that noticeable?
BulletMagnet
I would also like to hear how the clutch/flywheel has improved/impaired your driving and if the noise that it makes on idle is really that noticeable? Oh yes the noise is noticable, but only when idleing and in the low gears, once you go beyond 3rd (I think) you don't really notice it. What I do know tho is that Rays clutch is alot lighter now compared to mine.
R800NER
By lighter, you mean less tough on your left leg? Any noticeable difference to the feel of the car on acceleration?
BulletMagnet
By lighter, you mean less tough on your left leg? Any noticeable difference to the feel of the car on acceleration? Yes, less strength needed to push the pedal down. As for acceleration, I don't know, because I am banned for life to drive any of Rays cars ever since..... But he did comment on that the revs climb easier and perhaps a little faster than before, which might have an increase of acceleration as a knock-on effect
SilenTKK8
Yes the pedal is lighter on the feet. As for acc, it does feel as tho there is a slight improvement. Overall, it feels like you are driving a new car. And I'm loving the feel of the drive.
