yokomo
After a little thinking i decided to go the 8 inch route wiht my old Hu and alpine mono amp to drive the new sub. amp under glove box nicely hiddena dn sub in a custom box in the bose space. howver after making the front baffle to take the 8 i found it just wasnt going to work making the enclosure fit through the hole left ! so new plan sub is going in the boot passanger side order as this will be muhc easyer to mould ! so below is whats going in (if the head unit loom ever turns up!) more instal updates as i progress ! Yep, you will need an interface to get them working, possibly some soldering too. Take a look at the guide rob_quads put up in the ICE section
yokomo
yeah it got the interface and spliced up the wires as in the instructions and it works just not fully but i guess that could just be a compatability issue i suppose. volume up works , track up works but no volume down /track down ! anyhows not too botherd as its not like the steroe is miles out of reach. yokomo
and Fin ! just been to tesco's and i think i may need to source a nice 8" grill though .
H5
Nicely done bud How have you fixed it down? You can get universal grill bars which might help. Looks very neat. How does it sound?
yokomo
sounds good although i still need some more time tweaking all the gains etc. im actually really impressed by the volume as i used to runa 12 with twice the poer(same amp but pushing a 2 ohm load) adn this seems quite close considering its a tiny sub , guess being in the same compartment helps. as for fixed down its not yet ! just a very close fit although i may go and add some velcro to help the back a little . still looking for some bar grilles but most seem to be for 10/12's , had a really nice RF one on my 12 but that was liel rocking horse pooh to find . might get a custom one made up. H5
I would suggest putting some heavy duty meccano type metal brackets screwed into the boot floor and screwed into the bottom of the box. You really don't want a sub box hitting you.....
