dastardly
Anyone able to help with this one? When I first use the car in the morning and it's still cold, for the first couple of miles, when I turn round a corner or use a roundabout there is a really weird sound that is a mixture of a squeeling, wheezing and chugging that seems to come from the front wheel arches. The sound is mechanical and can best be described as a loud version of that wheeze that all new MINI's seem to make. This never used to happen and after a little while it goes, until the next day. gunmetalzgt
cars make all kinds of noises when they are cold. especially ones that are as highly strung as ours. it could be something simple like rust on brakes? try checking all your levels and oil. good luck with it
goatboy
well the wheeze new minis make is the electric power steering. Although I don't think that helps you much
dastardly
Cheers guys. I was hoping someone would say it was a common, easy to fix issue. Looks like a trip to the garage might be needed (though the noise will stop by the time I get there).

ab20000
Check your power steering fluids level - could be a split pipe and could be ££££ if not sorted.
narcotix
I'm not sure if this is related but I've currently got a metal grinding noise when I turn full lock to the left ... From reading other posts I think the problem I'm experiencing is due to the dust plate behind the caliper ... Maybe worth checking out ... Good luck with it mate
