chippy
Can anyone recommend a good bit of software to convert MP4 ipod videos to AVI, or even better rip from DVD to AVI directly? Cheers

Rob_Quads
I've had quite a bit of success using Handbrake for ripping DVDs
chippy
I've downloaded Imtoo DVD ripper as I have the DVD to Ipod version and it gives great results. One question though, there are loads of different avi settings. What resolution is the screen - 640x480?

chippy
Great, what output settings did you use?
andlid
I use 'super' for any video converting. For DVD ripper I in the past used tmpgenc but it was a long time ago so would'nt be able to give you a name of one thats free (guess thats what you are looking for?)
