MacW
Hi guys, I'm looking to get some extra leather for the Z and found this site which looks like a good place to start, just wondered if anyone actually had access to the original code number for the leather used before I start badgering them with pics. Ta muchly edit: I can't spell
Darren-B
Whats the site?...... Posible group buy?
MacW
The site can be found by clicking on the 'this' in the original post And I'm happy to sort a group buy but tbh the prices looked pretty reasonably anyway if you're only after small bits for extra colour etc around the cabin. sunset350z
Whats your plans Mac? Don't forget i'll be buying the car back off you when you've run out of money, modding it
MacW
Hah! Only £12k to you Steve as I like you Got 2 things in mind, firstly there's a gap under the new satnav that needs filling so a 1/2 inch strip of leather would do great in there. Secondly I got the replacement door switch covers as the others were scratched and was thinking about covering them with some leather before fitting them, I reckon a splash of orange on the doors would look the nuts You get your shades in the post yet mate? sunset350z
Yes thanks Mac. 1/2" gap? you didn't fit a fascia surround then? Pick one up from Sextons for less than £20, that should do the job It better be good for 12K
sunset350z
If you've got replacement switch covers, why cover them? Get the scratched ones covered instead. But to be honest i can't see how you'll get a good finish, the leather isn't gonna fit properly in the drivers door pull.
MacW
Did use the facia mate, seems Pioneer have a different idea of a double din size to the rest of civilized society. They also have a different idea of customer service and manufacturers responsibilities than everyone else too but that's a different story. I realised the pointlessness of covering the replacements while dozing off to sleep last night, sometimes I wonder if my brain even bothers turning up for the important decisions . And I'm fairly sure I can get the leather to fit, had a good look last night amd it's not exactly going to break the bank to have a go

Mac, thats a trim surround that comes with all radios. What you need is a fascia surround that fits the 350z perfectly, and is able to except any radio whether single or double din. I have one but it says it's for the "06" + model Z. So i don't think it will be compatible. Like i said look on Sextons website or ask at a nearby I.C.E store, should be able to pick one up for less than £20 mate
MacW
The one I used was the one from Sextons recommended all over the forums, I didn't use the trim that came with the system itself.
sunset350z
Sorry Mac, maybe the trim was for the 06+ year of Z. Heres the topic> viewtopic.php?f=27&t=16403&start=0 Is the gap between the radio and new fascia, or new fascia to center console?
MacW
The gap is between the unit and the facia, the facia fits the car perfectly.
sunset350z
Oh well Mac thats a bummer then. I'm suprised at that, as all the pioneer ones i've seen fitted have been good. Maybe you could change it for one that does fit.
sunset350z
Whats the model number of the pioneer, so that others can be aware of it?
MacW
It's the AVIC-F710BT, they also seem to be sending dodgy RCA connectors out with them, the one I had in the pack was missing all of the outputs except the sub. Still waiting on Pioneer getting back to me about that
