Zednick666
Hi all, I'd decided previously my first mod would be spacers for the rims, namely the Eibach 20mm ones from CS, but I haven't yet taken the plunge... However, having spoken to a mate of mine who owns an S3, he's having some made by a company called East Sussex Precision Engineering (ESP) who apparently get a lot of mention on the Audi forums and a good name. He made a few enquiries on my behalf and the guy said he didn't have the measurements but could easily make them once he does, he just taps it into the machine and hey presto, and he quoted £99 for all four corners! So, first of all, what d'you think to the deal? Second of all, would anyone be able to advise the measurements, and the max size you could safely stretch to? (had planned 20mm all round, but would you stagger it 25 rear / 20 front?) My main concerns revolved around strenght & durability, but given they do a lot of the Audi ones and many others on Ebay, they sound fairly promising... Cheers for input
M13KYF
the eibach ones CS does are easy to fit. Only 15 mins a corner and no need to remove any bolts. Some cheaper ones require you to remove them which is a good 3 hrs work. Rather have the ease of fit and also the same when you come to remove them at a later date
Digsy
For the price and the PITA if they're not perfect I'd just go with the Eibachs.
rtbiscuit
have you got a link to any of his ebay ones, would be interesting to see how he does them, if they're hubcentric with pressed in studs like the Eibachs then there is no difference. but if they are just spacers requiring longer bolts then its a lot of work. Zednick666
Hi guys, thanks for your replies - yeah they're supplied with longer bolts as far as I know (that's what he's doing for my mates S3 anyway), so in light of that think I'm probably still better off with the Eibachs! Even though it's double the damage Typical Yorkshireman you see, 'owt for nowt!'
srobrien
TBH I would have to see them tired and tested as much as the eibachs before i put them on, after all they are whats holding your wheels on. R
Zednick666
yeah agreed, was gonna give the S3 a month or so on them 1st!
Chris`I
For that price I can see them being non hubcentric and not having the bolts pressed into the spacers but just supply longer ones to replace the OEM. This means that the spacers might not sit dead straight (cause wobble) and would require you to replace the OEM bolts which is a PITA as the others have said. For double the cost, the Eibachs are well worth it and proven
