M350ZB
Your thinking about getting rid of 2 cars and just getting an Elise.... First thing is, whats your main decision for getting rid of the Zed?.... Dont think you have stated that yet! SLK isnt a bad car but you want more that the 200, M3 good choice unless you pick one that needs some work in a few months! But both arnt a cheap car to run unless like Sarnie will tell you you know someone that can look after it for you... M5?? Did you say you wanted to save money? LOL at the EFA !! Well getting rid of the zed, and looking around to see what i can get, either selling the other car as well, or keeping for the runner for work. The main reason is im moving onto another project so need to free up some space and some money. Seen a few SLK's on the road and decided not for me, bit like the M5, Grandads car M3 has got proper potential at the moment, wonder how much i could pick up a conv. for. Cant belive Sarnie paid 9K, bargain or what, One thing noticed its gotta be an 03 plate on-wards for the l.e.d lights, think that was the only up-grade from the begining 02 to the late 06/07's. Correct me if im wrong all........... But on another note, gonna miss the great 350z community for sure !!!!!
Tarmac@TarmacSportz
I will almost definately be going down the M3 route when it comes to selling the Zed. They are an awesome motor

yeti
if your looking at an m3 beware the servicing costs! it decides when it needs a service in respect to how its been driven, bloke at work traded his in (had in since new for 3 years or so) against a new s5 cos it was so expensive to run. The reason i chose the Z was cos it was cheaper to do the miles i do each year, was looking for m3's and with what my z cost you can get a v nice facelifted one... its a difficult choice but i suppose you gotta work out what you wanna spend your hard earned on
M350ZB
When you say facelift do you mean bud, the E46 bmw or the new E90 spec ?

If you take it to BMW expect to get raped. Mine will only be going to indy specialists and there's not many better around than Thorney Motorsports. Most expensive service with them is the Inspection II at £750 which only comes around every 2/3 years depeding on how you drive it: http://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/tuni ... cing.shtml
yeti
yep it was bmw rape i was talking about! i mean the leate e46 m3's, always dreamed of a csl since i used to park my corrado next to one when i worked at nissan a few years ago... stunning cars! - they make such a cool racerace noise! M350ZB
But when you say face-lift the only noticable change was the 03 change, rear l.e.d lights addition on the M3. They are lovely cars and some come with all the extra's, not many manuals about though .. And Liam will check that site out
yeti
yep i was looking at 2003 on coupes with about 40k and full bm history, decided the z was more fun, and i work in a place with hundreds of car nuts and most who i talked to said the z seemed like so much more value for money and there's been no badge snobbery at all! Digsy
Liam (Sarnie), your M3, carbon black, is this a specail edition ?, Have you got all the extra's, (sat-nav/t.v/phone/sound system/e.t.c) ? ? ? Err I don't think the Carbon black is a special edition............it actually looks dark blue in a lot of lights!! It looks blue in most lights, unfortunately. Stupidly I expected it to be black! I was told its an M-sport only colour.

M350ZB
Been reading up on M3's and the service intervals can also be according to how you drive it, how do you get on with this Liam ?
BulletMagnet
So in short the main reason you are getting rid of the Zed is because you are getting bored with it? How about trying to come up with something new and unusual mod wise.

Sarnie
Been reading up on M3's and the service intervals can also be according to how you drive it, how do you get on with this Liam ? Do you read the posts or only look at the smilies?? I posted on page two of this thread: With regard to the servicing, it'll be going to an independant. it may be more expensive but that is evened out by the fact that the service schedule is not like the zed's e.g 12 months/9k it is based on the onboard computer and is determined by how you drive the car. Lots of short journeys and the miles to the next service comes down quicker. use it les frequently and for longer journeys like we do and the service will not be for ages. Its not uncommon to see M3's unserviced for 18 months + because of this. My car is showing the service is required in 11,000 miles but we have only done 3,000 in it since January so it'll be ages before we need to service it at that rate..................
