lilsheepshagga_turbo
hi guys... well this week ive been working on a mr2 import. quite possibly the worst swirled car ive ever seen with just as many deep scratches aswell. sorry i forgot to take a few photos on the way but remembered to take some, so i thought i would show it up. hahah unfortunately with me doing so many cars of late ive not had the chance to clean my own car, so ive missed out on the envy show shine comp booo hooo newhoo photos as follows: the car on arrival the wheels cleaned with bilberry (solution rate of 1:3) car was soaked with valet pro citrus degreaser (1:3) both pressure washed off. the car was then clayed with Bilt Hamber, not too boad conisdering rh car is a v reg and has never been clayed (forgot photos sorry) had to push the car inside as it began to rain grrrrrr. after claying etc left the car looking like this time for some bright lights to see whats wrong with the paint.... as u can see, BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD!!!!!! this was everywhere.. after various test patches.. me n my partner in crime settled on 3m yellow pad and poorboys ssr 2. sorta 50/50 shot (need to learn to use a cam properly hahaha) after 2 passes on the bonnet it still looked like this most the swirls had gone but some deeper ones remained, we stuck with the yellow pad and switched to menz 302 (i think thats what its called) which left the bonnet like this we carried on with these 2 pads/compound choices for the rest of the car.. we then finished off with a LCC blue pad and sonus gloss it we ended the day with me and my man applying dodo lime prime by hand, we then wanted to test out the difference between AG HD wax and my DD SN. so we did half in half. both left to cure for about 20 mins and results as shows left side AG HD, right side DD SN no real difference in look and feel tbh paintwork in total took roughly 13 hours to complete next day was time for me to work alone on the engine bay, boot and interior. engine bay and boot were cleaned by hand (no pressure washer) with Bilt Hamber surfex hd, a million cloths and 6 brushes. i might give it another go tomorrow as im not 100% happy with it. neways soem pre shots cleansed and dressed the boot: same method used as engine bay and cleansed and dressed and finally for some results of the body work, mix of night and day shots some indoor night shots thanks for looking as usual. -ho

Sik jor fan mey, ar? Did you think Ho was short for Howard? And whats BBC? British Born Chinese? hahah howard...heheheh... my full name is Ho Yeung Tong (hate my middle name) correct sarnie master... Sarnie
Do 'real' chinese look down on 'BBC's'? E.g if you went to China etc?
lilsheepshagga_turbo
ermm it happends more in Hong Kong as such rather than china... in china they always treat me like a king sorta... BBC's that go back are generally ALOT LOT LOT better off. my nephews ex nanny was a GP in china. so you would think her pay would have been high, but we payed her 4X her salary for being a nanny here than a GP there... HK people treat me like dirt. i dont "fit in" with the crowd there as such. im 5'10 and closing in on 13 stone. people there are normally about 5'5 and about 8 stone. so they look at me like a freak. also taxi drivers etc try to take u the long route for example. roast350z
Good work Ho, interesting results with the ag wax and super natural did you find them any different to work with? would guess you would get a longer protection with the super natural (or hope so)
lilsheepshagga_turbo
Good work Ho, interesting results with the ag wax and super natural did you find them any different to work with? would guess you would get a longer protection with the super natural (or hope so) well it rained tonight and the beeding is alot more compact on the dodo... lasting wise im not sure. ive never left wax long enough for it to fade. think the longest ive never not waxed is 2 weeks :S. application wise both really easy. AG HD obviously with a wet sponge and the DD SN is like oil as soon as u rub it onto an applicator pad.. AG HD is harder to buff off but that could be down to the fact u put alot more on with the wet sponge. i like them both tbh.. but would i own the AG HD, probs not. for near enough the same price raceglaze would be my first choice or victoria's wax also BH autobalm.... -ho

What type of paint is on the car? Much fleck to it? If the paint it quite flat then you probably wont notice the difference with DD SN. What I noticed most with mine was that the fleck of the paint would pop much more than with P21S. When I first rolled it out into the sun there was a noticeable difference, but under hallogens you couldnt really tell. The other big bonus is how long it lasts. Quite a few waxes give nearly the same finish as the SN but they need topping up all the time. With DD SN I top up one layer a month if that. With P21S it was a couple every few every 2 weeks. As you've found, its also easier to apply. By no means ground breaking, but when you add it all together it does make it worth it. Good work with the correction BTW
bronzee
Nice job Ho. Noticed a bit of headlight hazing in one of the pics. My favourite for headlight haze eradication is Turbo Wax Headlight Restoration kit. Very effective and gentle at the same time. http://www.turbowax.com/prod/turbo-wax- ... ystem.html
stanski
wow Ho thats a spot on job Also brought back some nice memories of my MR2 roadster looking at those pics! I like the picture of you - looks like you are praying! Maybe you should combine business with Stew and set up a countrywide polishing company specialising in Jap car paint restoration!
