jerry3167
Maybe you have not enough coolant in the tank? Engine leaking water/coolant?
M13KYF
checked you water level when cold faulty thermostat
3FIDDYZ
Also where does it start? at the very bottom and off the gauge or on the gauge at the bottom? They have been known to stick... Also does it continue to climb?
Chris`I
Air in the system? Leak somewhere? Thermostat may be shot. Temp sender may be shot, but usually this just means you get no reading. Afraid we are going to need more details. As Mark says, where does the needle start, and how long does it take to get to "hot". Does it go up and down noticably if you go for a spirited drive and then cruise for a while?
IanS16
Is 3/4 really that bad? I know mine is usually over half way on the gauge

Ebized
Welcome to the forum, oh hot one Got some things to check and answer from the posts above - but if my temp needle creeps up over half way it will kick the fan in. If your guage is reading correct I would expect the fan to be going all the time - if it isn't then I would suspect the guage is giving a false reading
