Dblock
Plenum spacer and what does it do? thanks It lifts the plenum slightly to get more air into the front 2 cylinders making more midrange torque. I think. There is a group buy on a carbon fibre plenum plus spacer for about 250quid
Chris`I
Plenum spacer and what does it do? thanks It lifts the plenum slightly to get more air into the front 2 cylinders making more midrange torque. I think. There is a group buy on a carbon fibre plenum plus spacer for about 250quid Pretty much. On a stock Zed (before the 2007+ models), the front 2 cylinders were slightly starved on air. This caused them to run rich compared to the others and lose power. The plenum spacer evens up the airflow to the front 2 cylinders and thus balances out the air mix a bit making slightly more power and a bit of torque. Anubis
Goes on top of this around the edge (when you take the upper plenum [top] off): Its the shiney strip of metal in the middle. Stock engines don't have this, but if you put a plenum in (a piece of metal shaped like the engine), then the air can flow into it easier since there is more room - hence more power in theory.
