seopher
I'm not sure how long it's been doing this for because the car spent most of it's time doing dual carriageway journeys, only recently have I used it for urban stuff more. When cold the clutch is 100% normal, resistance from the top of the pedal, bites perfectly in the middle, no problem at all. However, when it's been used a lot in stop-start city traffic (especially on warm days) the clutch travel changes significantly. It then has no resistance until just above the bite, where it engages and the final 55% of the clutch is as normal. It just concerns me that it goes from having no free play to having 45% free play. If I leave it parked for a few hours it returns back to normal. The clutch doesn't slip at all and the car is performing normally otherwise, just this concerns me slightly. Any ideas? seopher
Thanks for that, I'll have a search round now I know what it's likely to be. It's due a service now anyway, so I'll get it looked at then. It was hard summarising my problem into a search term, but I'll have a punt now. ZMANALEX
Clutch slave cyl. and fluid replacement usually cures this issue. Parts in stock depending on model and VIN number. Pm me if I can help further. Cheers, Alex.
