20" wheel problems I may encounter? Quick Advice

I've just (almost) bought some 20" wheels, fronts are 8.5x20 with 245/35/20 tyres and Rears are 10.5x20 with 275/30/20 tyres.

On stock suspension are these going to rub?

And will my speedo require re-calibrating?

Cheers in advance as I've already agreed on a price, just waiting to make the sale. :teeth:

Depends on the offsets regarding your rubbing query.

Your speedo can not be recalibrated.

They are 5x114.3 fitments.

Is this okay?

Would my speedo still be accurate or un-affected?

Thanks.

That is not the offset number mate.

The size of offset will determine how far out the wheel sits.

The offset number for the front will also probably be different from the rear.

It should be stamped on the inside of the rims.

Your speedo should not be affected mate.

Cheers, yeah I don't understand the point of putting higher tyres on the rears? If this was to raise it I doubt it'd be noticeable.

The reason for the difference in tyres will be to compensate for the stagger. However Nissan staggered tyre sizes from stock.

30s all round work well. Thats what I run!

Theres a web site somewhere that allows you to type in wheel size and caluculates which tyres you need to get so the speedo reads as near as possible to stock readout.

I'll try find it.

I made the mistake of just using 19's instead of 18's and with the wrong tyres the speedo was well out on my golf.

Miata.net for the tyre size calculator.

Just to add that another downside to big wheels is the blunting of performance due to the huge increase in unsprung weight, but I do appreciate that a lot of people put looks over performance so each to their own and all that. ;)
