JamJay
Hi all. I thought I would sign up as I am in the market for a 350z, looking to buy as soon as the 370z arrives and dealerships *cough* Wilsons of Epsom *cough* realise that they can't charge £4000 more than book value for an 03 plate 276. My current car is a tuned SEAT Leon Cupra R which I love but I feel it is time to move out of the Hot Hatch sector. I test drove an 04MY 350z a couple of weeks back and fell in love with the ride and it's sound. It was equipped with the NISMO exhaust and GT pack I believe (Rays wheels), what a gorgeous car. I'll be honest, it's not as quick as my current car but somehow with this, it doesn't bother me one bit . I will be looking for a 2003 - 2006 276bhp 350, mainly because I begrudge paying the proposed £435 road tax next year for the later 300 & 315 models. So yeah, hello one and all, I look forward to speaking to you soon & learning more about these cars.
martinmac
Hi and welcome to the forum. There are many cars out there at the moment so take your time and get a good one. I am sure you have looked at what is for sale on here, the advantage with members cars being you can search their history. Fell free to post up anything you are considering so we can give it a once over. There is a sticky guide for new members in the FAQ section which has a few good links in

JamJay
Thanks for the welcome messages so far I won't post up details of the last 350 I saw (60k), the salesman started from cold and planted his foot flat to the floor . Also with the fuel tank nearly empty and dragging up all sorts of nasties from it into the engine. I am going to head off to the for sale section now. I hope my £10k budget will do me well, at least to get me an 03MY UK car anyway.

jerry3167
Welcome to the Club! I too came from the Hot hatch Type-R sector, but now that the baseball cap brigade are starting to afford the CTR, I thought it was time to sell up and move up the ladder!! richt
Hi mate You can get a face lift car while still paying the lower road tax. If thats what you want?
marzman
mate. Nice to see someone's done their reading before posting up and asking questions... The Leon Cupra R was quicker than the zed huh? The zed is deceptively quick with such low down, even torque, so it may be closer than you say... Hope you find a zed soon... and there's nothing wrong with a well looked after JDM. JamJay
Thanks for all of the replies, it's certainly a friendly place Totally agree with you jerry3167, I am seeing a few Leon Cupra R's about these days with silly lads driving them. I might see you about Cavey, I always use the A217, look out for the yellow Leon that's struggling for grip lol. Is it still possible to get a 276 facelift then RichT? I though the 276 ran only up until 2006? Hi marzman, I always do some research before signing up/posting and most importantly buying. I hope to learn alot more from you guys too. My Leon is quicker which I was kind of thought it may be. I haven't driven a 300 or 315 to compare but my Leon is pushing nearly 280bhp and 300+lb/ft (twice on dyno), it can be alot to handle and struggle to get power down but when it bites the tarmac I start to get a little scared. Stew
Welcome along. You've been doing your homework! A 300lb/tt Cupra would be well matched but The Zed will FEEL so much butter with the sweet RWD chassis and you'll look cooler too! Best of luck with the search. You have a colour / spec in mind? As said the import Zeds can offer good value with not too much difference in spec and UK rear bumpers are available too if you don't dig the square plate. nixy
You should do ok with 10k - good luck with the search!
bronzee
Welcome to the forum. Does colour matter? Let the crew know what colour Zed is your preference as they might spot a Zed that you haven't.
JamJay
No colour or spec in mind really. I drive a yellow car now so orange isn't so shocking to me either . I have a thing for black cars but I am not sure I have ever seen a black Z. My only preference is that it's a 276 due to road tax but that's it. I think I am right in saying that they all have Brembo brakes? The Rays wheels don't bother me too much as at some point i'd most likely upgrade to some 19" Rota GTR's. Indeed I will look cool which ever one I end up with though If anyone spots anything good withing my budget around the Reigate/Gatwick area then let me know. As long as it's not at Wilson's Nissan in Epsom . Edit: I am looking for a Coupe, not Cabrio.
