Need to replace the little plastic/rubber lip under the front bumper and wondering if anyone has tried any standard items from other manufacturers/cars. I know lots of VW people put leon cupra lips on all sorts of cars. Just the nissan replacement is bloomin rediculous price. Was fancyin a 996 turbo one as there are a couple on ebay but think it could be a total mare to make it fit.

Yeh my mate fitted an elise splitter to his clio about 5 years ago!

I've got no idea how you'd know if you could fit a specific splitter from a car without having it infront of you to measure it up.

You've got to consider the width, height, where it curves, if its flexible enough to be curved elsewhere, could it be screwed or will it have to be glued etc etc...

Well i've been to seat and bought a Cupra R splitter for a whole £23 :) Just had a quick look to see how it might fit, looks like I might get away with it, definetly the middle bit. Either way its going on this weekend at some point so we shall soon find out.

Right, i had a go last night, offered it up, cut a few bits, and it was going quite well. Front end of a Z must be very wide compared to a leon :). The 90 degree bends on the splitter turn in about 8 inches short of the end of the bumper. Offering it up, its exactly what I want, it looks very oem and subtle but no idea how i going to cut and mount it right. If it stops raining I'll have another look at it today.

Noticed while doing this that the plastic guard under the engine has lost loads of its little plastic mountings :(

Plastic splitters are usuallypretty easy to adapt from one car to another. They're usually quite flimsy and all you have to do is cut in the middle and re-join to make them the right width.

[unless you need them wider in which case its more work].
