sunset350z
Now that i have a replacement zed, it needs a service . A P1 to be precise. So as discussed on a previous thread, i said that i would give a company in Swansea a call to see what they could do for me. Well, the garage is called Niss-tec and they quoted me very happy indeed , less than 60 quid as i'm supplying my own oil, or just over 70 quid if they supply. Also a free courtesy car thrown in Its booked in for Friday morning so i'll post up the results of this good or bad
nixy
How can they charge only an extra tenner for oil................
sunset350z
Actually it works out at about 15 quid plus vat probably.

nixy
sounds like a no brainer then unless the oil is from the chip shop..........
Ian
Excellent result Steve
sunset350z
Don't forget these garages buy oil in bulk, and they probably pay less than a third of the retail price. Kwikfit for instance will put mobil sythetic oil in your car with the filter for less than 40 quid!!! while you sit back and watch I used to do all my own oil changes, but i don't see the point now. Apart from getting dirty, you have to dispose of the old oil safely. Too much hassle and this works out cheaper.
M13KYF
extremely cheap, well done

RobD7
Personally I'd only go through Nissan for the sake of my service book (also somewhere respectable to complain if they fudge up). However that is a very good deal!
sunset350z
Nis-tec are a nissan specialist, so as long as they do the service to the standard i expect, then they'll have my custom all the time. When you consider the nissan stealers want 176 quid for the same P1 service its a no-brainer really. Here's the link for all the local owners, if you want to give them a try... http://www.niss-tec.co.uk/
Ian
They quoted me £200 for a P3 when I phoned them a few months ago

sunset350z
Took the car in for the service today, and he gave the car a thorough check over and gave it a clean bill of health. The bill for the P1 service came up to £51.84, so was really over the moon with that. Oh and by the way, he only charged me 60p to top up the screen wash I asked him about prices for the P2 and P3, and they would cost £130 and £200 respectively. So no prizes for guessing where i'm going next time I wont comment on the dealer prices, but as my car is out of warranty i don't see the problem of taking it to an independent!! The good thing is Nis-tec is a nissan specialist anyway. My bargain day didn't end there, i went over to see my detailing mate Peter at Eclipse auto valeting. Only wanted to pick up some snowfoam, and a bit of advice on the paintwork on the Z. Well, i ended up going from there with a sparkling clean car. Pete thought it was a good idea to wash my car who was i to argue with that . He even sprayed the tyres with Nielsons brilliance tyre shine after giving the wheels a good clean We couldn't see any swirl-marks but i think the car could benefit with claying and maybe a quick machine polish all over. If i go ahead and get the bumper resprayed (usual stone-chips) then i''ll be giving Pete a ring to get the detailing done. Thanks Pete much appreciated . If anyone wants a detail or even a valet on their cars, then i can highly recommend Pete as the man for the job. Cheers
