Hi there  ,

Im new to the forum and have signed up for a very special reason :teeth:

I pick up my silver 350Z on saturday! B):yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

I have chucked in my focus ST3 (<--Boring car  ) for it which i think was a good plan. Before the Focus i owned a mitsubishi gto :drive1 and have been chasing that feeling since (Fords are incapable of achieving this, believe me ive tried  ).

I paid 13000 for her and got a very good trade in for the focus, GT pack, 22000 miles, 2004, not a mark on her polished hide ;)

Anyhoo heres a link to the car in question. i'll copy some of the pictures to here (if i can get it to work...) for when the link goes dead.

opinions good or bad?

Welcome husky,

I recently got my z and I'm absolutely loving it. I also had a Focus ST a few cars back. Did you modify yours or was it standard?

The z certainly feels different in it's power delivery from my old 285bhp ST, it pulls very linearly and hard right to the redline which can mask the sensation of speed a little compared to lump in torque provided by the turbo 5 pot. The ST power also trailed off after the revs got past 5k. The car is a lot lot more planted and has miles less body roll, the brembos are great too. I'm confident that even though the focus had way more torque 340 lb.ft vs 280 lb.ft I'd be able to show it a clean pair of heels in the z due to it's confidence inspiring drive.

Hope you enjoy the car. I'm from Airdrie by the way, where abouts were you from?

I did find the ST's power to all but vanish after 5k and it just sounded awfull :yuck:

The Z is a car designed to be sporty, fast, a drivers car. while the ST is a slow car pushed/modified to go faster.

like the guy who sold me it said, "get rid of the family hatchback" lol

I do have this fear stepping into my first rear wheel drive car though...

Im from stirling! :#1: ok, well maybe :#3: or :drunk:

What I will say is take is easy in the wet!!!!

When I first got it the roads were a little wet and greasy so I took the car to an open wide piece of tarmac in my local industrial estate and got to know the cars characteristics in the wet. If you try to apply too much power in the lower gears the rear end will snake like mad, if you come off the power it will want to spin. It's quite scary at first but is controllable if you are easy on the throttle. So if it's wet and you fancy tearing down some local backroad be very carefull of what the back end is telling you.

Have fun on saturday!!

Thankyou for the warm welcome! :teeth:

i am worried about running out of road in a corner lol

My freind was telling me not to bail in a corner, stick in there and dont be jumpy with the throttle it wont appreciate it!

I cant wait! Im going to have to find somewhere to have a toy about early in the morning, would rather **** it up in private and safely :dummy:

:bounce:3 days, 2 hours, 5 mins to wait!!! :bounce:
