There is a lot of what looks like grease all over it. I may be stupid but I thought it was supposed to be there. It may be what caused it to slip off and on. Does anyone else have this? If not Im going to clean and dry it right away! battery terminals usually have something like Vaseline to help prevent corrosion and ensure a good contact is made - seems your issue with the new battery might simply down to the clamp(s) not being tight enough. Ill see how it goes now its tightened to hell but should it happen again ill be swapping the battery for a uk one and switching the terminals.
