Ian
No real reasons to stay away from imports, they can be a bit more to insure & some wont have the Brembos, leather etc but tbh if I knew I was gonna mod the car as much as I have now I would have bought an import
Maccaman
Hi & to the forum. For 12k you should have a very wide choice, have a look to see what's for sale on here as they will be well looked after.

sunset350z
Don't forget that imports are subject to the higher tax band (400 quid +) if imported from 2006 onwards, irrespective of actual age of car.

Stew
Welcome along. Pick out what you want in the car and chose UK or import respectively. No real difference between them really!
ab350z
This old chestnut again, 'stay away from imports'. if the car is quality and has been imported properly then it shouldn't matter one bit. Mine was a top grade import, previous owner did a cracking job sourcing UK spec parts such as interior bits, brembo's, Rays. I'm the exact same price to ensure my JDM as I was for a UK, less than £200 a year road tax and the car has been to Nissan dealers since I owned it and they had zero problems carrying out work on it.
