tomedwards
Hi, I seemed to have developed a knocking noise coming from the front of the car. I sounds like something catching as it is a repetitive drumming that gets quicker when I speed up. Ive had a look underneath and nothing looks obvious, I can kind of feel it under the car near my clutch foot when driving, although it could be coming from anywhere towards the front of the car. Does anyone know what it might be? Is there anything that is common that I should try to rule out? Thanks
M350ZB
When you say knock, and it speeding up, i would not say this to common. The Z engine does give off a little knock now and then, but without hearing it i really cant say, have you taken it anywhere ?
tomedwards
no, I haven't taken it anywhere yet. I guess I should take it to a garage and ask them. It doesnt seem to effect the car in anyway, no warning light or strange levels. Thanks
M350ZB
The Z including mine does give a little knock now and then from the engine, but never gets louder/faster when driving, and as said is every now and then. Is it under warrenty at all ?

tomedwards
yep I think I will take it to the same place, it was Crawley Down Nissan. It all feels quite secure. That said, before my new bumper the plate that protects the underside of the engine bay was very loose, this is now secure again - maybe this is rubbing against something. Cheers

marzman
Is it a constant noise - i.e. related to wheel rotation? As if it is then its not related to any loose body parts...
tomedwards
it is constant, sounds like it is related to rotation of some kind, probably the wheels. I dont have any damage to the wheels or anything. It definitely speeds up as I do.
