Lexx
If you had a proper double din facia adapter for the correct year of the car you shouldnt have any issues. SOmeone with more ICE techyness will be along soon.

sunset350z
It looks like the top bit is in too far and just needs realigning. Very nice headunit by the way, good choice
chrisjones6699
The right side of the unit is slightly lower than the left and theres a noticeable gap at the bottom. I must admit, im pretty anal with things like this and want it to look perfect! lol! Thanks by the way! im liking it very much!
phatbloke74
Hey Chris, did you get this sorted? I'm interested to know how you got on and what you think of the unit as I've been looking at one of these myself. Cheers Phil
Rob_Quads
You got any better pics and what facia was used
R800NER
If you had a proper double din facia adapter for the correct year of the car you shouldnt have any issues. SOmeone with more ICE techyness will be along soon. I tried both the supplied Alpine facia and the double dinn from Sextons. Alpine doesn't fit at all and the sexton one has a gap top and bottom. I don't really mind that much, sound is all I want!
sunset350z
The alpine head unit in Rob's (H5) fits perfect

jtec23
Hey - i've been looking at this one myself (looks great!) - got a couple of questions if anyone can help - sorry if its been answered elsewhere 1. Seems i will be able to control this via the steering controls with the correct lead installed? 2. Seems i need the correct double din facia adapter for this? Are these easy to source? 3. I assume this can connect straight into the BOSE system? Any issues with this? 4. I'm guessing the best place for the ipod is in the arm rest cubby? Cheers James
Rob_Quads
1. Seems i will be able to control this via the steering controls with the correct lead installed? Yes with the right loom 2. Seems i need the correct double din facia adapter for this? Are these easy to source? Yes quite few suppliers 3. I assume this can connect straight into the BOSE system? Any issues with this? Not really - depending on the loom can sometimes be quieter but this can be sorted 4. I'm guessing the best place for the ipod is in the arm rest cubby? yes For loom/facia thoughts take a look at viewtopic.php?f=17&t=16403

jtec23
Another question - will the bluetooth adapter still work ok with this? (ie: cuts out the audio from the alpine)
sunset350z
No it won't work.
jtec23
No it won't work. Ahh really ?! damn - is there a solution for this? - i'd use the iphone/bluetooth quite a bit - not sure i could lose that
sunset350z
Just buy a head unit with bluetooth built in.
jtec23
Looking at the options seems they do a bluetooth adapter for this (although reports are its not that good - can anyone confirm this? echo problems im reading) - would this be controlled through the steering wheel the same way as it current works? Rob_Quads
For the 404 it would be the BT400 which I think it much much better than the older 350/300BT units as its developed by Parrot who are the industry defacto standard for handsfree
jtec23
Ok I got you - you mean one of the these: http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/alpine/p ... html?cat=0 Once installed with the W404R would this allow me to answer calls via the steering wheel? Thx bud!
jtec23
Ok i've done a bit more research on this - thought i'd post my findings for anyone else if they needed to know. The steering wheel answer controls cannot be used, also the mic needs replacing (although this comes with the BT400 kit). Calls are then answered on the touch screen display of the alpine - i'm told by a few installers quality is excellent Looks like my first new purchase is ready to go
