sunset350z
Does anyone know of any cheap or even free sites where i can get a vehicle history report?
PhilTheForce
I spent quite a while looking at these and found the cheaper ones usually miss a few crucial details details. Like it may cost a fiver but won't tell you of outstanding finance. Have a butchers here: http://www.carcheckdirect.co.uk/vehicle ... pared.html It tells you the cost for each and what you get. BulletMagnet
If you got any friends that work in the automotive insurance sector, in particular the fraudulent claims section, then they could do it for free.
nixy
but remember, although a HPI is very useful, if someone has crashed their car, not gone to the insurance and just bodged it up themselves and kept quiet - you will still never know...........So don't rely on it 100% for accident damage. ab350z
Good thing about the HPi is that you keep the certificate, so its always a bit of an added bonus when selling on, obviously people do their own research but it shows an example was well sought by yourself aswell. I've HPi'd my last two cars and you cant really put a price on piece of mind. Looked at a Fiesta RSTurbo years back that read 56k miles on the clock but the HPi check had a last recorded mileage at over 100k. Not sure if mileage is recorded and reported back to an organisation but it was a bullet dodged.
