new member, about to be new owner

Recommended Posts

hi guys

just joined up a few days ago. looks like a good forum.

my current car will hopefully be going this weekend and it will be getting replaced with a 350z.

i came very close to buying one last year (to the point of viewing one with the cash in my pocket) but it had a few hidden bad point the owner had ''forgotten'' to mention!

my budget is around £12-13k. any advice as to what i should be getting for that sort of money - age, milage, spec etc?

cheers,

tom.

thanks for the warm welcome.

color wise i have a soft spot for blue, but would also consider black and possibly white if it was the right spec.

spec wise im looking for as highly spec'd as possible, dont mind an older higher spec car over a newer lower spec.

preferably with a nice set of aftermarket wheels, although this isnt a deal breaker as i can always get some fitted myself.

dont mind some modifications as long as they have been done well. and obviously the lower the milage the better.

anything i should be looking out for to avoid or be cautious of?

heres a few ive been looking at:

really like this 1: http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/849691.htm

nice spec level, seems in good condition etc. have spoken to the owner and he seems cool.

only thing putting me off is that its his daily drive, communting around 1h30m everyday of the year in all weather. my current car is very much a dry weather weekend only toy thats garaged when not in use and im hoping to find a 350 that has a similar life (asking to much?)

also this 1: http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/956226.htm

again seems like a good spec. havent been able to contact the owner yet. have also seen it for sale on here and a few people have set some alarm bells ringing in the thread.

and a 3rd: http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/974073.htm

good spec, low milage. bit out of my price range unless he will come down a bit. maybe priced a tad high in the current market?

similar: http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/822896.htm

wont budget below £14k so bit out of reach for me. again price on the high side?

slightly different: http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1048176.htm

seems like a good spec from the limited write up. currently waiting for a reply about a possible deal.

non leather seats though, def bad point.

over to the experts.....

or point me in the direction of any recommended ones to look at.

Welcome to the forum. There is also Night Blue (US name San Marino Blue) too, but that being 2007 only would cost more.

Also don't forget to check the for sales on here too, still a few looking for new homes.

Welcome to the club

As for the cars, I would worry more about servicing and the warranty work a car has had than dry use only sort of things. A good detail and clean of all the shuts, engine bay, arches etc and you'll have it better than new. ;)

has anyone got any feedback about jap performance uk in bradford? them seem to have a few nice 350's in.

:welcome:

I seem to recall a few bad stories about them on a Jap forum I'm on. Will have to have a hunt for them.

If you're after a white Zed for the budget you quoted it would have to be a JDM car (or a resprayed one) as they didnt offer Pearl White in UK spec till last year.

If you are interested in getting one imported I can recommend;

Torque GT

JM-Imports (jurgen is a legend, and has sourced a number of cars on here)

WRC Sales Bradford - they seem a bit rude on the phone, but are actually quite decent folk in person.
