dcash5
I know we always tell members to search and I certainly have been victim to the abuse and given plenty of abuse as well Let me give you an example ... If I'm looking for a catch can/tank I put in Catch Tank or Catch+tank or 'catch tank' and I am returned with 85 pages of posts. - Brilliant I think plenty of reading material... but the vast majority of the posts are 'I swear you could catch something by just walking near them ' or 'Dont shoot off too early on wed, I have to catch you up ' or 'Stew - Should be able to make a brief appearance tonight - catch ya later!' Tis funny but not alot of use, could we put some search rules in like the + or '...' as used on internet search engines to filter out posts. Relevant post started to filter through on page 5/6. Just a suggestion Dan
martinmac
Limiting the searc area helps a lot Dan, I guess I find it easier as I spend so much time on here. See where you are coming from though
Chesterfield
you can use " " to search for phrases. e.g. If you search for "catch can" (including the quotes), that will narrow the search considerably. also, three letter words cannot be searched, the strain on the database to index all three letter words found in any post can become large, so only four letter words and above can be searched individually. Three letter words can however be searched for as part of a prhase, like in the example "catch can" Hope this helps

H5
You can also put AND inbetween the words you want to search for and it searches for threads with all the words in.....
