CaptainSensible
When I was buying my Zed I really wanted an 06 plate but was put off because of the horror stories about excessive oil consumption. In the end I went for it anyway and am glad I did as the car does not seem to drink any oil at all. I thought it might be worth doing a poll of Zed owners with these engines just to what proportion has oil consumption issues. For anyone in the market for a Zed I hope this will give a little peace of mind if they are considering this model.
MrLizard
i have a 56 plate revup and can say that the oil consumption is in my experience below average...
Ekona
Mine rarely uses any at all, even after two trackdays. *touches all the wood I can see*
AK350Z
I don't think it was a large proportion, and even so, very few were really bad. Some engines are just designed to sup oil like it was going out fashion, the RS4 being a major recent offender i belive.
CaptainSensible
I'd say that's a pretty positive result so far, any more rev up owners around?
M13KYF
never needed to top mine up. I do 6 - 7k a year
Stew
Some rev up engines are known to use a lot of oil, from my350z experiences quite a few owners find their oil consumption extremely high. Mind you my Z is pre rev-up engine and does consume quite a bit anyway My mates old 276 used a lot of oil. When he told the dealer they said he'd run it in too gently.... Mine never uses oil. I guess it's the luck of the draw!
