maiseymark
Just got my 350z from the garage after swapping it for my e46 m3 after such frustration with constantly getting my pants pulled down by BMW! First thing i had to do was service the car and it cost under £200.00 which was great compared to the £711.00 i paid for an inspection service on the e46 and i saved £650.00 for the year First views are fantastic, great handling, great noise and the looks to go with it! Its black with alzean and rays alloys, the leather is a bit of a love or hate opinion but i think it goes nicely against the metalic black I have just got back from a weekend at the Nurburgring which was amazing - quite a few zeds there and around 2 or 3 supercharged ones - we went in convoy with 6 or 7 cars including a gun metal 350z which was driven by 'Sleg' who told me to get myself registered on the forum One thing i would say to any 350z owners around the Nottinghamshire area is try to avoid Evans Halshaw in Mansfield, they have been an utter nightmare - firstly they 'forgot' to get me a courtesy car even though they told me over the phone that i would have ready when i arrived, secondly they didnt wash the car and last but not least i asked them to fit an i pod lead to my zed which they said they could do, so i agreed and picked the car up the following week, on my arrival i paid nearly £150.00 which was a bit ott but i was willing to pay this to get what i wanted, i then walked over to my car to see that they had fitted an fm transmitted mp3 connector which sounds terrible. I quickly took this up with the manager who told me that they dont do an i pod lead and that i would simply have to keep it.....i soon put him right but he still insisted that he couldnt do anything however i have been back today and i will be getting my money back Anyway im not going to let that get in the way of my new purchase! Just afew queries if anyone could help: - 1. Does anyone know how i can get an i pod connector? i have the bose system with 6 cd changer but i dont know if i need to replace the whole unit to get an i pod connector to work?? 2. Can anyone get hold of a boot cover as anyone can see straight through my rear window and im thinking it might get broken into if things are on show 3. This is a bit of a strange one but i have a strange clicking noise when i put my accelerator down so far and the same click as i bring my foot off the pedal - it seems to be coming from the rear drivers side Any responses would be appreciated! Cheers, Mark
nixy
appauling service from the garage! 150 for an fm transmitter? having a laugh!! I have an aftermarket alpine unit with ipod connector in my car but its an import and i had to get rid of the original stuff anyway. It also sounds like you have the clicky axle issue which is common and you'll need to take back to get sorted. Lots of info about it on here. Someone else will be able to fill you in. martinmac
Nice and easy questions then. If you want a decent ipod connection you will have to change the unit for something else. You would think it suprising that the dealer didnt know that, we dont The covers are available, I have a roadster so one of the coupe owners will help you out. the click sounds almost certainly the "clicky rear axle" its pretty common. The dealer will know about it. If you have warranty then they will probablt try to grease it. This is the Nissan quick fix. Not guaranteed to be permanent. ZMANALEX on here has a kit for under £200 which will fix it, Nissan charge over 1k. Its usually only on one side. Welcome to the forum by the way

Maccaman
Hi Mark & to the forum. Well at least you have found out about the Nissan stealers early in your ownership. We have a very big meet in North Wales on the 16/17th of May which you would be very welcome to come to. You would get some good ideas of what some have done with their ICE & how they have dealt with the mp3 dilemma. There is also info about an East Midlands meet which could be of interest to you. Cragus
Welcome Mark! If you need advice in the future I would almost definately ask on this site first as there are a host of cracking people who know the Zed well - better than the stealers! As for ipod connection the BOSE unit has no input as far as I am aware...as crud as it sounds I just use the tape connection to my ipod which works fine. Its better than the radio which always has others stations butting in and loss of signal. Anyway - you dont need music! Listen to the sweet tunes purring out the engine and exhaust! As for clicky axle - straight back to the stealers to sort out a well known warranty issue. As mentioned it is well documented and you can even buy the correction kits out of warranty for this now. Enjoy your ownership

rich5259
to the forum Mark You can get a tonneau cover that fills the hole under the rear brace bar. £160 from stealers for the OEM one, £45 delivered for a custom one from Paul at http://www.requestonline.co.uk/350zTonneaus. You should already have the small cover that goes over the the glass above the rear portion of the boot.
bronzee
Welcome to the forum Mark. I wouldn't be too concerned about the dealer not washing your car, they were probably doing you a favour. If you are the only one to wash your car, you know what's been done.
M350ZB
I wouldn't be too concerned about the dealer not washing your car, they were probably doing you a favour. +1, would never get my z cleaned at the dealers
sally
I try to avoid taking my Z anywhere near the dealers! Deffo wouldnt leave it there unattended!! I had to go to Ipswich Glyn Hopkins the other day, i saw 2 staff members ragging cumsomers cars in the car park. The guy that was looking at my wheels went inside and made a complaint! If they were abusing a Micra and Almera imagine what they would do to my Z!

Chilli Red
Hello and welcome :bye: Are there any pictures?? Or did I miss them
maiseymark
Cheers for all the feedback and welcome posts, much appreciated As for the warranty i got the zed from a specialist dealer in Wigan so its a long trip for me to sort it out but if thats my only option i might have to.... In response to the ipod posts i will look into getting a new head unit although i didnt really want to remove the original but i can always keep it and fit if i ever sell, not thinking of that now tho! Suprised to hear all the negative comments about the main dealers.......arent there any honest ones out there??? I have tried to post my pics but its stopping me from posting because the pixels are too big???? I will have to look into the custom tonneau cover from Paul, i would rather give the cash to a honest zed owner than the 'stealers!' I was going to ask about modifications but i will have a scan to see what other posts have been put up - im not wanting to do a great deal but a pop charger and exhaust appeal to me just to enhance the growl! Thanks once again, Mark
M13KYF
with the clicky axle issue I would get the dealer to fix it but not bodge it. I would be glad that the dealer didn't wash the car. HAve you seen how they do it. Much prefer them to leave it alone and I wash it properly when I get home. Upload your pictures to photobucket. This will automatically resize them and then use the IMG code to display them here. to the club
Chilli Red
Upload your pictures to photobucket. This will automatically resize them and then use the IMG code to display them here. I do that and still have to resize them manually or post just the img thumb
