BLINDS122000
hi everyone this is my first post here Selling up my EP3 civic type r for hopefuly soon a 350z done quite abit of searching through the forum and couldnt really find what i was looking for, so here are some questions... Im really not sure what year to buy, is there a big difference between the different engines and bhp. Does anybody have some official real 0-100 mph times for the new and old engines. I would like the 2008 model with the new engine but really not sure if the 2006/2007 models are just as good. also the price diff seems to be quite big so wouldnt want to spend more than 18000, so not sure i could grab a 2007/2008 313bhp model any replies would be great cheers alex
martinmac
Hi Alex and welcome to the forum. Some dealers were recently selling unregistered GT models for 20k so I would say you have a very good chance of getting a good 08 313hp model for that budget. I dont think there is a massive performance difference between the engines but the 08 model is a little tidier inside and has the bonnet bulge which looks great. Trev-the-Rev
Alex. As Martin has said there is not a huge difference between the models in terms of performance, but the 2006 model onwards does have slightly better interiors and other cosmetic differences such as led rear lights and Rays wheels as standard. H5
Welcome to the club There is little real world difference between the pre 06 and post 06 cars. There is a bit more oomph with the 313ps engines but probably not enough to justify the extra cash unless the newer car is an important thing for you. clarkie34
Also dont forget post 06 cars attract the higher tax band.

Maccaman
Hi & to the forum. Your budget should get you everything you want. The uprated engine has a little less torque than the pre 06, whether you would notice a difference is arguable. Whichever you get will put a massive grin on your face. Engman
I recently got my 57 plate GT from a dealer with 5.5K on the clock under your budget with sat-nav and parking sensors. They also threw in tonneau cover, paint protection and gap insurance for nothing so its a good time to haggle with them...
